My uncle was my boss. He would cuss me like twice a week. It was my uncle though so it was expected.[Edited on October 24, 2010 at 12:21 PM. Reason : .]

never a customer, yes on bosses.
10/24/2010 2:33:01 PM
Never had supervision yell at me.^^ You've never dealt with customers on computer problems before. I guarantee it. People are goddamn stupid when it comes to computer related issues and they get mad at YOU because they went to a bunch of porn sites and installed malware (but YOU sold them the laptop so it's your fault that it's not working).[Edited on October 24, 2010 at 2:52 PM. Reason : Yelling customers were still rare, however, and usually it was somebody who was fucking crazy.]
10/24/2010 2:51:51 PM
correct:Supervisor / Manager: "Hey, I need you to do ____________ (something job-related)..."Me: "Sure thing!" **does it**incorrect:Boss: "Go do _________ (some unnecessary power-trip bullshit)..."Me: "Fuck you, I quit." **walks out, gets better job somewhere without dickhead power-tripping bosses**Fuck bosses. When they say, "jump", you say, "Fuck you, I quit." It's a fucking job, not the god damn military.Authority, in and of itself, deserves no respect, and that is not an immature attitude.

Good luck ever holding down a job. Unless you're an angsty 15-year-old, in which case you'll probably grow out of whatever phase is responsible for literally every post you've ever made on this site.

^ The customer is always right.Anyway, I've never really been yelled at by a supervisor/boss. At my first job, I never was yelled at. Actually, I got along with all the supervisors. At my second job, I had a real D-bag assistent supervisor who would ride your ass when it's 100 F outside and you're standing in the direct sun and he's driving a shaded vehicle besides the rest of the workers telling us to "go faster." A few times, I told him that if he wants this to go faster, he could actually help. He either STFU or he got off his ass and helped. My third job, in a manufacturing facility, the plant manager would just be an all-round dick to us. My father worked there as the QA manager, and he just told us to ignore him. We were looking at plastic bottles all day, looking for little tiny black dots and bubbles. It was a 12 hour shift, and he wanted us to look "Enthusiastic." Sorry, but that's fucking impossible. My fourth job I was yelled at a customer who was in the wrong, and management sided with me. My boss once saw me brushing plugs on the fairway and he didn't think they needed to be brushed. About 1 or 2 holes before, I was with the assistent supervisor and I asked him if I should continue and he said I should. Anyway, the boss called me the fuck out over the radio. I was pissed, and he kind of pussed out back at the shop and just stayed in his damn office. But again, I was never cussed at, and no supervisor ever "let loose" on me.
10/24/2010 5:13:28 PM
In my last job, once by the owner on the phone and occasionally by bitchy customers unhappy about a broken phone and they didn't have insurance or some shit. Had to call the cops on one guy he was so pissed with a Verizon CSR on the phone. At the car rental job I got yelled at by customers all the time. Enterprise rarely got everything right, whether they wanted a bigger car, wanted to keep it longer, didn't want to pay anything, etc. etc. One of the managers I had along the way was from Jersey and possibly bi-polar. She was one of those people who could yell at you one second and then be happy and hugging the next. She had issues dealing with customers and employees, but I only had to deal with her a few months.Current job, only yelled at by a couple of pissed off teachers. One in particular screamed at me because her computer wasn't hooked up and I was scheduled to be at that school one day a week, so she wouldn't be online for another week. I laughed at that one, because she made her husband come up there and hook it up. My boss is great and never yells. He sometimes lectures if he is upset about something, but he never raises his voice. Shit sometimes that is worse than if he yelled.[Edited on October 24, 2010 at 5:29 PM. Reason : ]

my first boss never yelled at me, but we really did not get along. She had graduated from GIA (diamonds & stones) 30 years ago, and I had just graduated; of course there is alot of things in 30 years that have been changed or discovered. So we butted heads alot. I was usually right, but she didn't want to lose her job and look bad, b/c she was late 50's and barely had anything saved up. I didn't want her job anyways. The funny thing is the company is now going under, maybe someone should listened to me. The other one was the same problem while getting retail experience at Belk's. The manager didn't know crap about rocks and would tell customers lies. I HATE when stupid people tell customers lies, esp. when they know it is false or just make up shit for the sale. I had that evil woman yell at me so much it was not funny. I hated that place like you cannot understand.p.s. don't buy rubies there, alot are glass filled. (even thought they said they were not )

when I worked at Jellybeans in 9th grade I got yelled at for using too much water when I mopped the bathrooms
10/24/2010 5:50:46 PM
Sometimes it is better to have bosses who yell and let you know exactly how they are feeling in their mind.....I don't mind it as long as it is professional....in some cultures it is no big deal...especially if there is a big age gap between the boss and his subordinate...
10/24/2010 6:15:03 PM
I'd fire indy if he were my employee.

I'm with indy.yelling is something you do to children bc they aren't mature enough to get th pt otherwise. I'm an adult and expect to be treated as one, especially in a professional work environment. If you can't control your emotions enough to speak to someone in a calm and professional manner, see a therapist.

I was not yelled at by my supervisor, but was talked down to by an assistant principal. She did this to every teacher, and was thoroughly disliked by all. The head principal was cool and we had a good working relationship, but I promptly left that job for a more professional atmosphere due to the Assistant Principal.
