It seems like everybody has the shit overflowing out of some cabinet...

GrumpyGOP and I have a roommate that religiously saves every plastic container that any type of food comes in (i.e. cold cuts). It's starting to develop into the prelude to an episode of hoarders, but they do come in handy most mornings when packing a lunch.

Probably like 75 containers and 60 lids, and only about 10 of them actually fit each other.
11/8/2010 9:25:49 AM
I'm phasing out my tupperware, in favor of glass containers.
11/8/2010 9:38:42 AM
about this much..plus a couple more[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 9:52 AM. Reason : and Rubbermiad Premier Set tupperware is the shit! ]
11/8/2010 9:50:09 AM
We have 4 containers and that's it. It's ridiculous. I need to buy more
11/8/2010 9:52:30 AM
Ray, do you mean plastic storage containers in general, or the real mccoy Tupperware?Cuz I got no damn real tupperware, fuckin' shit you gotta buy at a bored housewife party. Women got smart in the last 15 or 20 years...they sell each other dildos instead of fucking food storage.
11/8/2010 10:16:47 AM
I just reuse the containers that lunch meat comes in.
11/8/2010 10:22:34 AM
i definitely read this as fapperware

i have more tupperware than tupperware lidsi also have more chinese task out containers than I do tupperwareand all those chinese takeout containers have their lids... no lie though, i have lost many due to improper dishwasher loading.[Edited on November 8, 2010 at 10:50 AM. Reason : f]
11/8/2010 10:49:41 AM
i generally don't use tupperware or any other plastic containers...instead, i have several sets of these:
11/8/2010 10:51:43 AM
^ I also have those.
11/8/2010 12:45:06 PM
It comes and goes. My roommates like to cook stuff and instead of eating it they leave it in the fridge for months. When there is blue and green fur, I just throw the container away since I know they won't clean it. Then I buy some more and the process is repeated.
11/8/2010 12:46:29 PM
i got a few of those flimsy ~2 cup sized ziploc things, nothing heavy duty though
11/8/2010 12:46:39 PM
my fiance got pissed off and threw it all awaywe have like four peices now and the accompanying lids but no extra
11/8/2010 12:48:50 PM
Sometimes, if I have some leftovers in a bowl, I'll just invert a plate over it as a lid.Sure, it has to balance there, but if you use convex plates, they balance pretty well. Also, the bottom is flat, so you can store more stuff on top...

I believe the appropriate answer here is:too much.

i have a lot. and the lids always get lost. i'm on of those people who rinses out cottage cheese containers (etc) to reuse them as tupperware. i guess that is super homeless, considering i have actual tupperware also. i don't know. i just can't seem to throw containers that can be reused away so it builds up lol.
11/8/2010 1:38:55 PM
^ I have to make myself not do that. I try to hang on to the lunch meat containers too but Fareako makes me throw them away. I still keep a few of the cottage cheese ones to hold stuff that I don't want to use tupperware for, like I keep one in the freezer with all the meat fats that I need to discard that I don't want to put down the drain.
11/8/2010 1:46:50 PM
i guess i could have said pint-sized now that i think about it
11/8/2010 1:47:16 PM
I cycle through the cheap ones when I get lazy and don't want to clean out gross leftovers. Sakura's takeout containers are microwave and dishwasher safe, so I use those over and over as long as I don't let them get moldy.

too much, and only a 1/3 of it matches
11/8/2010 2:02:54 PM
Chinese food plastic containers for soup works the best and its free.
11/8/2010 3:25:01 PM
I'm not naming names...but I am friends with a certain child actor who recently went into the tupperware selling business. I don't understand why tupperware is such a huge thing. I really don't.
11/8/2010 3:30:57 PM
when the economy goes down, three things happen. 1. Production of Spam increases by 10 folds.2. "Meatloaf" comes back to the family table every Thursday night with everyone questioning if there's really meat in it.3. Sales of food containers skyrocket as people save every food scrap that they can.

not enough... future mother in law steals some every time she leaves with leftovers.
11/8/2010 8:42:18 PM
I have one from a ham package.
11/8/2010 8:48:10 PM
I have lots and my mother always buys a huge set of ziplock/glad containers during the holidays and packs up leftovers for me and my sister, only because I seem to lose every container before the next holiday season comes up.I have no clue what I do with them!
11/8/2010 8:55:17 PM
11/8/2010 9:13:57 PM
we have this Plus ~15 other containers. Some larger which is great for freezing chili or soups
11/8/2010 10:30:58 PM
Gladware bitches! I will not use them if I cannot wash off tomato stains or if they do not pass the squeak test with my finger
11/8/2010 10:34:38 PM
