so, I've been getting input for the past two weeks from the different operators on shift at work on new tablet computers that we are going to purchase. We've got 4 shifts and a day shift. The day shift is easy to find, because they work the same schedule as i do, 4-10s. The other shifts are on a 12-hour shift that rotates. I don't know the exact schedule, but basically M-T is one set of shifts, then F-Su is the other set, and the next monday a different combination of shifts starts it up.So, the only way for me to see all the shifts in a two-week period is to come in both weeks on Friday to catch the people who were essentially on the night-shift the week before. No problem. So, this evaluation generally takes all day, and is tedious and boring, but we wanna make sure we get input from all the shifts so nobody bitches at us about not being involved. Last time we bought new machines we didn't do any of this, and we bought a piece of shit that everyone hates.Today was the last day of the evals, and I'm sitting there with the operator going over everything, and towards the end she asks who the other operators doing the evaluations were. I give her the list of people, and she processes it in her mind and then says "who did you get from Shift 4?" I say, "well, it must have been so and so, cause they were here when Shift 4 was on the day shift." She then says "those guys are on Shift 2. they were working overtime that day." FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!![/tww is not a blog]long story short, i gotta fucking come in next friday for the third week in a row >.<
