So I happened to come across this able, but its top was in very bad shape. With a little sand paper and some paint, I think its a little better looking now. Not perfect, but im happy with it.Anyone else done any ncsu art projects? Always looking for ideas.

I've been toying with the idea of making a Mr. Wuf tree topper.

^do itthe table took about 4 hours to paint. I just noticed that in the first picture its light out, and the last its completely dark

one time i wanted to collect a ton of pennies and use the different shades of them to make that same logo, maybe use it as a slab on the floor or somethingi need to find the excel file that i used to plan it

thanks guysi have to admit, the lady friend did most of the detail work, im not the greatest at painting in the lines (thus I painted all the black)anyone else done anything like this?Im kinda thinking I need something on the wall behind the tableand ClassicMixup, what I did was use the seam in the middle of the table as the middle of the block S (you can see the seam in the big picture). Just put that exactly in the middle of the S, and the Horizontal orientation was alot easier [Edited on December 23, 2010 at 3:56 PM. Reason : just a ClassicMixup]

Good choice to leave the "white" part the natural wood... Gives it a sweet vintage feelThe whole thing will look pretty awesome as it ages and gets scratched up, too
12/23/2010 3:54:20 PM
yea we originally were gonna paint it white, and we were gonna do it last. but after finishing everything else, decided that it would ruin it to paint it white. The table top was really distressed before hand, so with the wood showing through it looks really cool already (hard to see in the pic). Reminds me alot of a basketball court
12/23/2010 3:58:10 PM
I assume you sealed it?
12/23/2010 4:02:01 PM

12/23/2010 4:53:26 PM
very cool
12/23/2010 5:23:05 PM
if I find a similar table, will you paint it for me?
12/23/2010 5:28:22 PM
Looks sweet. I like the raised look of the block S...looks official.
12/23/2010 7:44:44 PM
look good man, nice work. good choice of contrasting red colors too, i would never have been able to get that right.

here's what i wanted to do w/ the pennies thing, each cell is a different penny, with 4 shades of pennies to make up everything[Edited on December 23, 2010 at 8:56 PM. Reason : smaller]
12/23/2010 8:55:36 PM
yea we put about 6-7 thin coats of polyurethane on it, probably gonna put several moreno you cant have itfor the right price we'll do it for youyea the colors really weren't as hard as i thought they would be to get, we pretty much just guessed and went with it (until we ran out of paint, which was a pain to try and match back up)

I dig that except...the wood lip around the edge. It seems a bit out of place. Maybe take the black all the way to the edge or perhaps paint it red?Btw, I am neither gay or have much of an eye for style or aesthetics, so take the previous comment with a dry lake of salt.Btw, where did you guys find that logo? I'll make some new cornhole boards at some point and I want to put the logo on it this time.[Edited on December 23, 2010 at 9:45 PM. Reason : .]

Trim looks fine, but I think the rest of the tabletop/legs should just go all black. The top looks great, but I think that the black alone on top looks kind of peculiar.I wish I could just randomly do a project like this, though. I just have zero motivation or patience to nail all of the details.

here's my pathetic attempt at a State table. note that we were never sober while working on this.
12/23/2010 11:23:01 PM
i like the table man; im assuming its for beer pong purposes?
12/24/2010 3:17:59 PM
you'd have to be drunk to paint the diamond logo
12/24/2010 3:35:27 PM
I have a half NCSU half Arkansas beer pong table all hand painted, and a couple sets of cornhole.
