i've given up going out for steakso much cheaper and more delicious to take matters into your own hands as far as that is concerned, imothough i've always been curious to try the Gentleman's Steak Dinner at capital club
12/28/2010 5:58:39 PM
I would grill my own but I'm in an apt and it's cold out
12/28/2010 5:59:08 PM
may i suggest a cast iron skillet? on occasion, i prefer it to grilling anyhow. i completely ripped off the AB method, but it works wonders.
12/28/2010 6:01:49 PM
But there's no time!And it's my birthday!Quick, somebody suggest a restaurant!

By Raleigh, I'm assuming that you mean Norfolk, VAIn that case, I would suggest Magnolia Steakhouse on Colley Ave. Closed, apparently.I would have suggested The Grate Steak, where you buy the meat raw, and then cook it yourself over an openface grill. But the last time I went there, I saw roaches swimming around in the butter.[Edited on December 28, 2010 at 6:18 PM. Reason : s]
12/28/2010 6:15:26 PM
goddamn EMCElet's get some cheap liquor, hit that place up, and have some Hangover like shenanigans[no? homo]
12/28/2010 6:17:24 PM
OKI ain't afraid of a little roach, or 25 millionhttp://www.thegratesteak.com/this may not work. if not, go to the photogallery on the website

haha, it was awesome, actuallyorder a big fat NY strip. go hit up the salad barwhen you finish your salad, they bring your steak to you on a plate, rawthen you scurry over to the grill, throw some seasonings on the steak, throw it on the grillbutter some bread, throw it on the grillpull a potato out of the bin, and throw it on the grill......Pull your food off the grill, plate it up. Walk over to the fixin' table, brush the roaches aside, and doll up your potato......get back to your tablenom nom nom
12/28/2010 6:23:33 PM
well this thread has made me crave steak, so off to the store i go
12/28/2010 6:35:46 PM
was the tater already cooked and you just warmed it up? usually takes forever to cook a tater on the grill.
12/28/2010 6:38:57 PM
Yes

My bro and SIL love vinnie's (six forks) for steak/pasta combo. They get one of each and split it. I've never been there, but they rave about it.
12/28/2010 7:28:10 PM
sullivan's
12/28/2010 7:31:45 PM
Bloomsbury Bistro in five points...menu changes (or used to) so call ahead, but the food's awesome

Sullivan's is always good. I was also surprised at how good McCormick and Schmick's steaks were.
12/28/2010 9:28:19 PM
I would have never even considered getting a steak at second empire
12/28/2010 9:33:23 PM
+1. Probably one of the last things I'd ever order there but I'm sure it was tasty.
12/28/2010 11:45:11 PM
Where's a good place to get prime rib around here?
12/29/2010 9:36:39 AM
Sitti's pepper fillet is one of my favorite steaks in Raleigh. Pasta- honestly, everywhere I have been has been about the same. Good, but not great...
12/29/2010 9:45:01 AM
12/29/2010 9:49:18 AM
Capital City Chop House
12/29/2010 11:59:42 AM
The Peddler on Glenwood up from Crabtree is amazing. Salad bar is the tits and they have the best prime rib I've ever had. You'll feel old as fuck eating there though.
12/29/2010 2:21:51 PM
Angus Barn's prime rib is better than their steak imo. It is delicious. They had it at our company Christmas party and everyone om nom nom'd it.
12/29/2010 2:41:06 PM
haha just got back from olive garden here in GA, and had there filet mignon-garganzola pasta platter- it was actually really damn good (it is a seasonal thing they have right now). I was damn impressed
12/29/2010 2:47:40 PM
You would like the Olive Garden. I bet you even dig their commercials.
12/29/2010 2:49:39 PM
nah, it is the first time I had been to one in almost 10 years. Gotta admit though, the food was a lot better than I was expecting it to be
12/29/2010 2:53:15 PM
i know this man loves his steak and pasta
12/29/2010 4:57:17 PM
