my dog forgets where the bathroom is quite often. Also ignores her name quite often. I attributed the latter to her not giving a shit but maybe it's something more serious.

My dog (15 years old) has cognitive dysfunction. He can't make his legs work right sometimes, inappropriately releases his bladder, and just generally doesn't know what the fuck is going on a good deal of the time. The medication most definitely helps, though.
