My policy on eggs is the same as it is on milk... if it is bad, you'll know it. You know how sometimes you smell the milk if it is a little old and you're like "Well it smells kinda bad" and you taste a bit and it's fine? Then a few days later you smell it and it is absolutely HORRIBLE. It's the same way with eggs. If they smell just a little off they are probably fine. When they are rotten though, you'll know.

^Indeed when in doubt, Float Test FTW. If it floats, toss it. If it sinks, dig in.

Throw your eggs against the fridge. If they stick they are good to eat.

float test has always worked for me. eggs are often good way past their expiration date

Eggs in the refrigerator can last months.

Yeah I ate some that were a couple of weeks old yesterday. I just do the float and/or smell test. Some say you can flip the carton every so often and extend the life that way.

the eggs my chickens lay sink. i don't keep them around long enough to see if they ever start to float.older eggs are best for boiling. they peel the easiest. fresh eggs won't peel for shit.
