not really sure what PETA gets up to these days & i haven't read the article, but i've been dealing with something for a couple of weeks now.a few days before the Japan earthquake I saw the movie, "The Road", which then compelled me to read a few chapters out of the book by Cormac McCarthy.i have not been able to eat meat since then. its messing with my mind.just thought you guys should know that.

Who has enough energy to give a shit about PETA doing stupid shit? They're like the Westboro Baptist Church.
3/25/2011 1:38:18 PM
Many groups have altered the language of the Bible over time. I don't see why there shouldn't be a PETA version.
3/25/2011 1:50:57 PM
Why do they need one?
3/25/2011 1:53:14 PM
If they want a PETA version they can write it themselves.
3/25/2011 1:53:38 PM
Why do they need one? To brainwash more people?People are sheep. We don't need more sheeple to cite passages out of the PETAbible as facts for their behavior
3/25/2011 1:58:36 PM
does everyone realize that the bible was written by humans?
3/25/2011 1:59:44 PM
True. I wouldn't want any sheep following the words of some lunatics. Let's keep the Good Word untainted so no one reads it and gets any crazy ideas.

^^k pack it up. internet's over.
3/25/2011 2:28:48 PM
is this really the first time you've seen something irrefutably retarded on the Internet?
3/25/2011 2:31:58 PM
I just picture board meetings where they discuss how quickly they are becoming irrelevant and what shocking action they can take to get back in the news.PETA isn't the only group that puts this mental image in my head.
3/25/2011 2:32:57 PM
^^no but it's one of the worst collaborative efforts ive seen. have you ever heard of exaggeration[Edited on March 25, 2011 at 2:33 PM. Reason : .]

Right now they have a stupid chicken statue in front of the CVS on Fayetteville Street.
3/25/2011 2:35:47 PM
I'm fine with it as long as they leave in the parts allowing us own slaves and hate the gays.
3/25/2011 3:08:45 PM
If someone went in and changed 80% of the books of the bible, I doubt most people would notice.I could only tell you what is in Genesis, Exodus, Psalms, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Revelation. Granted, I know a lot verses/stories outside these books but I wouldn't be able to locate them off the top of my head.
3/25/2011 3:57:57 PM
^^^^At first I thought it sounded dumber than Conservapedia's project, but the actual article merely says that just as Zondervan used more gender-neutral language when referring to people, language affirming the existence of gender should be used when referring to animals, rather than "it" (which refers to organisms without sex differentiation, or to inanimate objects).BigHitSunday, the translation offering the greatest fidelity to the original texts (without sacrificing readability) is now the 1989 revision of the NRSV (available at the bottom of this page); it basically used the same modus operandi as the KJV, with the best source documents available at the time and language understandable to contemporary people (although "thee" and "thou" were going out of style even back in 1611).The only translations even more literal than the NRSV (like the NASB and Apostolic Bible Polyglot) sound kinda broken because of the oddities of syntax, grammar, and diction in Ancient Hebrew, Ancient Greek, and Aramaic. Finally, for the OP, the greatest LOL is that Zondervan just recently released a long-awaited 2011 revision of the NIV (still fairly literal but easier to understand, making it the most popular translation); it'll probably take a couple decades.Sometimes I wonder why Christianity didn't take the path of Judaism before it or Islam after it, basically requiring Christians to learn and maintain the languages of the original texts in order to claim to comprehend the Word; I mean sure Judaism never spread over huge swaths of territory, but that kind of restriction never stopped Islam![Edited on March 25, 2011 at 4:18 PM. Reason : ^That's because most so-called "Christians" are ignorant of the Bible
3/25/2011 4:06:19 PM
Who fucking cares. All the shit is fiction anyway. It's like making Harry Potter a girl and adding an extra boy (have a group of 4 instead of a trio) for some additional comic relief is going to change the fucking book. It's still fucking fiction and it will still be stupid.
