this story seems like bullshitbut also - that's what you get for talking on the phone for 4-5 hours per dayfor fuck's sake

I am no oncologist, but wouldn't it make sense to cross-reference different communication device wavelengths with the wavelengths known to disrupt DNA and cause cancerous cells in in various tissues? Sort of like resonance frequency in different materials impacted by soundwaves.

WHO: Cellphones possibly carcinogenichttp://yourlife.usatoday.com/health/medical/cancer/story/2011/06/WHO-Cellphones-possibly-carcinogenic/47896304/1

oh yeah - lets put this fear into context toohttp://www.boingboing.net/2011/06/01/the-risk-of-cell-pho.htmlif you're going to worry about cell phone cancer you better never suck any dick cause its more likely that you'll get HPV related throat cancer

If I'm going to talk to someone for 4-5 hours I would prefer to be there in person.I don't even like talking on the phone for 4-5 minutes most of the time.

Cigarettes are good for you.

^^yeah no shit. This issue is just ridiciulous. Everything in varying amounts can cause cancer. Deal with it.
6/1/2011 1:23:12 PM
This sucks! The side of my right leg is going to get cancer now.
6/1/2011 1:25:26 PM
cancerous cells periodically pop up in a normal person's body throughout their lifetime from various things - gamma rays from outerspace naturally seeping through the ozone during a solar flare, etc. - it's the immune system that identifies these mutated cells and kills them. God willing we all have healthy lives and be grateful for each day because as said, many things we come into contact with on a daily basis can cause cellular anomalies and potentially harmful side effecfts that we normally recover from without ever knowing it
6/1/2011 1:26:17 PM
People die everyday from calling and texting while driving. That should be the real concern here. The WHO is just pointing out is that there should be a call for more research, not that cell phones actually cause cancer.
6/1/2011 1:36:19 PM
Shit like this will only continue. As we use and depend on more and more electronic devices day in and day out we'll be around and exposed to greater amounts of radiowaves. And on a related note to this thread, when I'm driving around I keep my cell phone wedged under my thigh near my crotch. I do this b/c I can never hear it right and that's a good area to notice if something's vibrating [Edited on June 1, 2011 at 1:40 PM. Reason : d]

my mom sends me these articles because I told her not to worry about ithttp://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2011/05/20/gupta-cell-phones-brain-tumors-and-a-wired-earpieceeveryone compares it to cigarettes, and says better safe than sorry and mentions the interphone studyi say w/e i don't talk enough to make it something i need to worry about, you get "irradiated" everyday by all kinds waves (radio, wifi, cell towers, power lines) - whats one more?
6/1/2011 1:44:42 PM
Who talks on their phone for that long every day
6/1/2011 1:46:18 PM
Every time I think about another politically motivated mathematical index used by the government to push data in its favor, I will always think of

I've wondered about the radiation I've absorbed by spending a few hundred hours in the Prowler, jamming stuff in Iraq and Afghanistan.
