http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/08/15/2530174/police-la-man-decapitated-disabled.htmlSilverii said the motive was unclear, though Wright told police "that he'd gotten to the point where he was tired of taking care" of the boy, who had cerebral palsy and heart problems, needed a feeding tube, had limited speech and was in a wheelchair."He said when he put his head out by the side of the road it was so the mother would see it when she came by," Silverii said. He said Wright's only explanation for doing so was "just that he wanted her to feel stupid when she saw the head."[Edited on August 17, 2011 at 2:01 PM. Reason : xcv]

y he do that
8/17/2011 2:04:46 PM
yeah i read about this seriously this man should have his head cut off with a hack saw like he did his child. that has got to be the most gruesome way i've ever heard someone killed that wasn't from a movie.
8/17/2011 2:06:23 PM
8/17/2011 2:07:35 PM
He should be required to cut his own head off with a hack saw
8/17/2011 2:08:29 PM
most of the police on the case it said were reduced to tears over how horrible it was
8/17/2011 2:09:40 PM
Kid got Nick Berged.
8/17/2011 2:36:46 PM
As the parent of a similar child, this makes me sick.I fully support the torture and prison rape of this man.
8/17/2011 2:38:30 PM
They should cut his dick off with a hacksaw first
8/17/2011 2:39:12 PM
somehow this will not be as big of a deal as casey anthony. i guess b/c it's a guaranteed conviction, but i'm still annoyed by how much attention that got.
8/17/2011 2:39:28 PM
yeah i mean killing your kid is horrible..... USING A HACK SAW ON HIS NECK WHILE HE IS STILL ALIVE is the worst thing i can image.. I mean EVEN A CHAIN SAW would be better. He would have been working on his kids neck for probably half an hour before done and probably 15 minutes before the kid was even dead. seriously this man needs to be tortured before put to death. i mean water board the ass hole a few times before you hack his head off.
8/17/2011 2:39:34 PM
wow.
8/17/2011 2:41:39 PM
Justice is not fast enough for this bastard.
8/17/2011 2:45:13 PM
I feel sorry for the defense attorneys who have to take this case.
8/17/2011 2:45:52 PM
^ really? that's all you got?
8/17/2011 3:02:03 PM
8/17/2011 3:02:08 PM
^^What? Should I just repeat "Oh how horrible, can you imagine?" That's been posted a dozen times. I do feel bad for the defense attorneys. No one should have to take a case like this.
8/17/2011 3:03:32 PM
[Devil's Advocate] I think the guy did the boy a good deed. Who wants to live in a wheel chair, in pain, heart problems, can't speak, feeding tube for their entire lives? [/Devil's Advocate]

Question:If you are the parent of a critical needs child or whatever they medically call it, was IS your option if you are emotionally and financially drained from the care necessary? Like I've always wondered, would a parent be found criminally liable if they could no longer afford to take care of a kid like this and had to stop taking them to the doctor? What if they knew that they would snap and murder the kid one day, could the child be adopted out to a family with the financial and emotional needs to care for the child? At what point does adoption stop being an acceptable solution? When they're an infant? Toddler? Elementary school? Never?
8/17/2011 3:10:09 PM
I wouldn't want to live that way, but I would rather live with all of that than die the way he did.
8/17/2011 3:11:05 PM
How would you want to die? By your heart slowly seizing up and cutting off your blood supply to your brain, then it start working again, then stop and start again.
8/17/2011 3:13:21 PM
Sounds pretty good.

My sister has a terminal lung disease which she is going to die from. Her lungs are going to collapse and she is going to suffocate to death.Shouldn't we lock GOD up for this inhumane way of killing someone?[Edited on August 17, 2011 at 3:20 PM. Reason : .]

In this particular case, it's hard for me to tell if the dude was just fed up as a caretaker or if he was trying to exact revenge on his girlfriend. Or both.I've always wondered about wolfpackgrrr's questions as well. I thought there were all sorts of systems and stuff in place to help, but I've worked with some people recently who clearly aren't getting the help they need/deserve.[Edited on August 17, 2011 at 3:25 PM. This isn't the lounge, so I know I am opening myself up to flaming, but I can try to answer some of your questions from my experiences...Having a terminally ill child fucks you up mentally/emotionally in ways that you can't even begin to imagine, and caring for them does add a very significant stress factor into the equation. There are a lot of physical assistance services out there, but there is a lack of any real type of emotional assistance services (at least in South Carolina).Sometimes though, they both are intertwined. For example, the state pays for a nurse 2 hours a day from 1-3pm during the week, so that my wife can take some needed time off for herself to relax. Caring for a disabled dependent is non-stop. My wife was against having the nurse at first, but is really glad she finally decided to let it go through, she didn't realize how much providing constant care to our son had drained her. Having someone care for my son 2 hours a day during the week took such a load off of my wife's mind, she is in a much better place mentally. The state has done a great job of providing physical/financial assistance for my son, the state pays all of his medical bills that aren't covered by our regular health insurance, and we've had a case worker assigned to us from very early on that really has been a fantastic advocate for us, especially letting us know what assistances are available. What they haven't done is ask "How are the parents holding up?".It really is unfortunate, because I think some issues could be handled by taking an interest in how the parents/caregivers are doing. That being said though, I am not sure what that assistance could be. Personally, I don't talk about my internal feelings about it to anyone, for various reasons, so even if the offer of help was there for me, I don't know if I would take it.

seriously i'm completely aware that if i were this kid i'd want to die. i don't want to be a burden to anyone i love ever.
8/17/2011 3:48:05 PM
yeah, YOU would want to die because you know what life is as a normal person and are thus aware of what you're missing. This kid was born with his condition and I'm sure had become accustomed to the way he existed, going day by day experiencing his own set of pleasures and headaches. Assuming that he wanted to die, knowing nothing more than what we've read in this article, is one of the more ignorant and asinine things I've ever heard.
8/17/2011 3:51:46 PM
- Too bad it's illegal for anyone to kill you.- Too bad you can't communicate your will to die.- Too bad when you smile because someone is acting like a doof, that it means you want to live (like the mother thinks).-Too bad that even if you WANTED to die, it's illegal to commit suicide, or commit assisted suicide.-Society forces the parents to take care of a child they don't want to take care of.-Can't give the kid up for adoption, no one wants to take care of a disabled child in this condition. We are so protective over one disabled kid's lives, we fail to see how many normal people's lives are ruined in the process.[Edited on August 17, 2011 at 4:21 PM. I mean you figure even just 50 years ago, a kid like this would have died soon after being born. It seems like with the advancement of medical technology, it puts a large amount of strain on the parents faced with these medical choices. What if your child was born, and their medical prognosis was so dire, you didn't want to pay the absurd amounts of money to keep them alive for a diminished capacity? Would making that decision be considered a crime? As an annotation, I think what this guy did it totally screwed up. He could have had him OD or something else more humane. I'm just curious about the more general ethics of the situation.
