This man has a case.He sent letters for two years, and they actually wrote back saying they would, but never did.

that's called shutting someone up and not, and this is important, a binding contract
9/12/2011 9:26:31 PM
It's in black and white. It's in letter format. It's signed.Seems legitimate to me.If you're okay with premeditated lying being legal, then you're the reason society lies so much. No consequences.

everyone lies, everyone breaks promises. the legal system is based around this very basic fact.
9/12/2011 9:52:31 PM
Is there or is there not, a magnitude of lying? From innocent white lies that preserve people's feelings to devastating ponzi schemes.Which kind of lies do you think should be punishable?
9/12/2011 9:54:50 PM
If the fat doesn't fit, you mustn't acquit.

Lying under oath in a civil court is perjury. It is punishable by law.Why should it be any different outside of court?[Edited on September 12, 2011 at 10:00 PM. Reason : .]

I'm pretty sure he doesn't have his lower back against the backrest in that pic. Unless he has like 4' femurs that result in his shins almost reaching the other side of the table on a normal basis. I, too, can scoot my but out until my stomach touches the table.[Edited on September 12, 2011 at 10:07 PM. Reason : s]

yeah, in a contract, there needs to be an agreement where someone gives something and something is received.

There was a guy in my Java class a few years ago who had this problem. He was ~3ft, maybe 4ft wide.He would come in every morning and squuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeze himself into the booths/tables/whatever they are in EB2.Then he would break out the soda and doritos for our 8am lecture.

He'd be charged with perjury if he was proven lying in court about it. Why, aaron, why? Why is it illegal to lie in court?

The question is Why is it NOT OKAY to lie in court, but it IS OKAY to lie outside court? Why do courts need you not to lie? Why would people on the outside of court desire you not to lie?
9/12/2011 10:59:32 PM

9/12/2011 11:23:54 PM
why should white castle be liable for not holding true to a contract that was never made or signed?moreover, your request for prosecuting people who are injured by a lie basically already exists. If you can show actual harm by a lie, whether it be libel, slander, or anything else, you can recover damages. basically, your whole concern is moot, because it is already covered by current law. show you've been harmed, you get paid.how the fuck was this guy harmed? is the dude gonna die now because he can't sit his fat ass down at his local White Castle and get fatter? is he losing income because he can't sit down at White Castle and swallow some sliders? Did the chair collapse and crush his cat on account of it not being properly balanced for his weight distribution? Did he fail a math test because he wasn't able to study as well while slurping down the big gulp at his local White Castle? what, kind sir, is his specific case of harm? butt hurt?[Edited on September 12, 2011 at 11:30 PM.
