Made chili last night, and my fingers are still burning from cutting up the peppers... i have washed them like 5 times.oh well... the dull burning pain all day will remind me that I have a big bowl of chili waiting for me when i get home.

This is a reminder to you that you should constantly rub your eyes.

this reminds me that i REALLY want a great bowl of chili

Sounds stupid but wash your hands with some milk. The milk helps neutralize the capsaicin. Same as if you eat something spicy drinking milk takes out the heat.
11/3/2011 9:38:01 AM
I heard you're suppose to rub your own jizz all over your hands...and then lick it off.

So one night my gf and I went out to a bar and I had them make me some specialty hot wings...think man vs. food challenge hot. So hot that I was afraid that spontaneous combustion as they sat there was a real possibility. So hot that I broke out in a full sweat from just a whiff as the waiter set them down in front of me. Somehow I made it through all six of them, but I was entirely delirious afterward. In order to finish I basically had to detach my senses and self completely from my body such that I was only punishing the vessel that contained my existence rather than char my soul in a bhut jolokia conflagration. After finishing and washing up I proceeded to get hammered to try and escape the fevered recovery process for something more familiar, something I know I can handle. Cut to a couple hours later when I really "come to" to the writhing and tortured protests of my naked girlfriend on top of me. tl;dr don't eat ghost pepper wings and stick your fingers in your girlfriend's asshole

yeah i read that story in one of the tucker max books.good adaptation though.i guess.

Rub your hands on stainless steel to remove the oil. Don't rub your eyes, pick your nose or caress your dick. All bad advice in this thread.
11/3/2011 11:07:11 AM
don't get the capsaicin oil confused with the lube-- checkWHY DO I KEEP IT IN THE SAME DRAWER
11/3/2011 11:10:09 AM

11/3/2011 11:17:09 AM

Logic says if it burns your fingers, you should probably eat it

I've always imagined the people who do those hot wing challenges regret it much more coming out than they did going in.

Capsaicin is not water soluble which is why washing your hands didn't work. It is alcohol soluble, so an alcohol based wet wipe, alcohol based hand sanitizer, some rubbing alcohol, or a little bit of vodka should remove any capsaicin left on your hands. Swishing a little liquor around your mouth is also a good way to stop the burning after eating especially hot foods.[Edited on November 23, 2011 at 5:48 PM. Reason : s]

^^ that scale goes up to 16M. We've got TONS of room to improve our pepper spray. The trick is to know ^ information and to have gloves ready in your kitchen. They're also great for raw meat, onions, etc. I prefer the purple nitrile or whatever the one's that are not latex.
