...seems to me rather ambiguous. We all know not to use our host's toothbrush for instance, but the rules for the shower arent as defined. Personally, I stay away from the loofa (and i remove it from the shower entirely if i have guests over so that they arent tempted) but I have no qualms sudsing my sack with the bar of soap.we need to create a guest shower code of conduct to deal with these situations.
11/29/2011 11:47:27 AM
Why would anyone want to use someone else's loofa? Why would anyone still use bar soap?
11/29/2011 11:48:48 AM
I provide my guests with a small hand towel and hotel sized soap so I never have to worry about them skanking up my bath products.
11/29/2011 11:49:00 AM
if you're so inclined, just buy a loofa when you know a guest will be over in case they want to use one
11/29/2011 11:50:00 AM
cant dry much with a hand towelthat's kinda rude
11/29/2011 11:50:04 AM
It doesn't matter as long as they can't tell that you used it.So you can scrub your asshole with their loofah, as long as you rinse your dingleberries off after you're done.Use their toothbrush, but dry it off with a towel when you're finished so its not still wet when they use it next. You can beat off in the shower, just aim for the drain and make sure it washes off the shower floor.
11/29/2011 11:50:08 AM
^^ Hand towel for sudsing, durr.
11/29/2011 11:51:28 AM
a washrag?
11/29/2011 11:52:09 AM
Naw, I'm a nice person and give them a hand towel. Washrags are too small imo.
11/29/2011 11:54:31 AM
11/29/2011 11:54:55 AM
white people love washrags
11/29/2011 11:56:25 AM
^^yeah...i pretty much agree with that entire scenario as well...but then again, i don't own a loofa [Edited on November 29, 2011 at 11:57 AM. Reason : ^i sure do!]
11/29/2011 11:56:46 AM
Is it rude to set up a camera?
11/29/2011 11:57:19 AM
Only if you're not hot as fuck.
11/29/2011 11:58:13 AM
omg a hand towel would get so heavy in the showerand I USE BAR SOAP
11/29/2011 12:02:22 PM
11/29/2011 12:03:57 PM
yeah a real hand towel in the shower just seems like a terrible ideaunless you're a fatty who washes with a hand towel wrapped around the end of a sticki leave plenty of shampoos, soaps, towels, washrags, hand towels, whatever is needed in my guest bathroom, and it's worked out well with many people either crashing after parties or actual house guestssometimes i'll shower in my guest br shower when i dont feel like having to use the squeegie to clean down all the glass in the master..
11/29/2011 12:05:21 PM
I have always wondered this. I usually bring my own loofa when I know I'm staying overnight somewhere.
11/29/2011 12:58:46 PM
I don't use other people's loofas/toothbrushes, but I use all their products if I need them.I love people with fancy products.
11/29/2011 1:03:54 PM
just make sure there aren't any pubes on anything you touched
11/29/2011 1:05:02 PM
People can use whatever of mine they want.Likewise, I use whatever they have in the shower, I'm not one of the people who brings his own washcloth and towel.
11/29/2011 1:07:42 PM
I suppose this would be hard if you absolutely had to have a rag-like thing when showering and assumed everyone else did too.For my shower it's liquid soap and liquid shampoo. You use your hands.Like a prison.
11/29/2011 1:07:56 PM
I have extra soap, towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste & washcloths in the guest bathrooms specifically to avoid this issue.
11/29/2011 1:08:53 PM
no one ever stays with me (yay for having a 1br when all my other franns have big ole houses lol), but I should probably put together some sort of basket just in case.I always keep extra towels and soap and stuff...but no toothbrushes
11/29/2011 1:10:28 PM
I always have towels out for people to use, as well as shampoo, conditioner and some type of soapy thing. I've never put out washcloths because I've never used them and honestly it just doesn't cross my mind. A few people have asked for them, and I oblige. I guess I really should start putting them out as a standard. If they use my shower they're welcome to use anything I have product-wise. But that doesn't really happen anymore with a guest bath.
11/29/2011 1:11:20 PM
who the fuck would use someone else's loofa
11/29/2011 1:11:51 PM
if you use washrags in the shower we are no longer friends. that shit is disgusting.
11/29/2011 1:13:07 PM
i give my guests an entire shower to themselves so they don't even have to use my shower. In it is liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner in a hand lever operated container on the wall. I also provide their own full size towel on the towel bar, and normally instructions on the best temperature setting and how to get there.then they get to relax in a guest room with their very own queen sized bed and 32" LCD tv.
11/29/2011 1:15:18 PM
i use one of those scouring pads for pots and pans
11/29/2011 1:15:20 PM
I used to use a rag to wipe down the shower walls.Shit got crusty before laundry day.

seems like a simple solution is leave body wash and shampoo in guest shower. I dont understand why someone would use bar soap after body wash was invented
11/29/2011 2:14:43 PM
I love bar soap. so much better. I tend to go through liquid soap way too fast. Irish springs ftw.anyway, I always tell guests to stay the fuck away from my toothbrush (and usually paste), shaving razor and my bar soap. I keep liquid soap for guests.
11/29/2011 2:20:32 PM
I just never liked liquid soap. But then bar soaps started messing my skin, so I switched to body wash. I'd prefer Dove soap I think but never remember to buy any.
11/29/2011 2:22:00 PM
11/29/2011 2:26:50 PM
I have both bar soap and Old Spice body wash in my shower. body wash seems to take double the amount of time to wash off of my body that bar soap does. ive probably had that same bottle of old spice in there for a year because i never use it for that reason. i go through about a bar every couple of weeks (maybe a month?)
11/29/2011 2:31:08 PM
I use Irish Spring bar soap on my entire body, save for my genitals, on which I use Olay women's body wash. I instruct my guests to only use the soap, as the body wash is expensive and they wouldn't appreciate enough to justify it.
11/29/2011 2:34:29 PM
I have a guest bathroom that is always 'presentable' and stocked for guests. I have an organic futon for sleeping accommodations, and 3 sets of 'guest only' sheets that are always cleaned immediately after use. Also, 2 big towels and a hand drying towel by the vanity with some scented decorative soap bars, and some antibacterial soap in a pump.
11/29/2011 2:37:57 PM
Guest bath has two full sized towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths. Linen closet has extras of all three.under the sink has blow dryer, straightener/curler, razors, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, brush, body spray, pads, tampons, mouthwash.
11/29/2011 2:39:55 PM
A guy washing himself with a poofty loofah just seems very feminine Whats next, a guy wearing lace panties because the cotton underwear chafes his delicate skin?
11/29/2011 2:42:57 PM
be more insecure.and with that said, i'm a recent reconvert back to bar soap after a 6 or so year affair with gels.
11/29/2011 2:45:01 PM
I just tell my friends where the towels are. I assume that they're all intelligent enough to know basic boundaries.[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 2:46 PM. Reason : Please, no snot rockets in the shower.]
