i'm not sure if i have any proper burn ointments, but i'm looking for a household product that has similar healing properties. preferably something in the same room as me. mustard doesn't work.

^^ bingo. they trap in heat, and that's bad. best thing to do, if the burn is not open, is run it under cold water or use ice. you've got to get the heat out, first.
