5/10/2012 2:01:06 PM
I hear Harry Anderson lives in Asheville
5/10/2012 2:01:33 PM
^^No, but Dan was always getting laid or trying to, and AIDS really took off in NYC during that time.Harry was always doing magic for kids and loved Mel Torme.

The only non-animated show during this timeframe I gave a shit about was Full House.

I did not remember Brent Spiner being on Night Court:

Tom Payne, the first African American to play ball at UK, had a cameo on Night Court after Michael Jackson's dad helped hook him up the job.Tom Payne was also a serial rapist. And at 7'2", he was never that hard to identify.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Payne_(basketball)[Edited on May 10, 2012 at 2:28 PM. Reason : I love bizarre trivia.]

god, i couldn't stand mama's family.and i just realized how alike "doogie howser" and "dukes of hazards" sound.
5/10/2012 2:40:35 PM
Anyone can rattle off the names of great shows, but lets have a serious discussion. (like the Saved by the Bell post)I consider myself an expert....Mama's Family was TERRIBLE.
5/10/2012 2:41:45 PM
let's discuss how the wonder years is a million times better than boy meets world, and why.
5/10/2012 2:42:58 PM
yes, i bet zach did. he better have.and jesco white, the dancing outlaw, was supposed to be on an episode of roseanne. tom arnold paid him to have his swastica tatoos covered with roses. then his scene was cut from the final episode.
5/10/2012 2:44:01 PM
^^Opening credits/theme song alone made it better. Greatest of its kind.
5/10/2012 2:44:19 PM
wonder years was kinda brilliant, i've recently seen a few episodes.freaks and geeks was '99/'00, and was one of the best "sitcoms" of all time.
5/10/2012 2:45:37 PM
can anyone remember the show where there was a teenage/young adult son living in the house who always wore a blue bathrobe he called "baby"?
5/10/2012 2:45:41 PM
"Boys Will Be Boys"?
5/10/2012 2:47:52 PM
narration to the wonder years was great, also. i remember watching it when i was around kevin's age in the show, and thinking, "hey, i've said that to myself, too!"it was a lot more realistic and a lot less sitcom-y than boy meets world

the laugh track basically killed many of these showswhich is why i think the wonder years continues to be successful.that said, i've never understood the love for Boy Meets World. I put it on the same level as Small Wonder, Alf, or even Evening Shade.I mean it was okay, but Step by Step it was not.
5/10/2012 2:54:35 PM
The lack of discussion about Dinosaurs disturbs me:
5/10/2012 2:59:38 PM
The wonder years was great because, at least as a guy ages 8 - 12, you could easily relate to everything that kevin experienced. For me, the show has really held up to the test of time but with one exception. Growing up I thought that Winnie Cooper was so great and felt for Kevin as he pined for her all the days of his youth. Then, after watching the entire series at the age of 24, I realized she was a complete bitch and I had been falling for "Winnie's" all my life.I now wonder if that is something you are supposed to take away from the show. That these girls you often yearn for in your youth are other women out there ("Madelines") who would be much better for you even though you can't see it at the time. This is an affliction that falls on both genders but I speak of it from a male POV since Kevin and I are both male.

I loved WingsI place it up there with great NBC sitcoms like Cosby Show, Cheers, and Seinfeld. But you know what I hated?Frazier. I don't think I ever laughed once watching Frazier.[Edited on May 10, 2012 at 3:15 PM. Reason : .]
