for some reason I'm having a senior moment and can't figure out why my controller input won't workanyone that can help me will most likely know what Nestopia is, but it's a NES emulator that has the ability to capture video built into itI'm pretty sure I have the USB controller hooked in correctly and the device is recognized, but when I go to controller input and try to set the controls, it starts putting in some random keys that I didn't press. well actually they're not random, it's the same key each time (it says "(joy 0) 0" instead of the button on the controller I actually pressed)I just reformatted a week ago or so, and I'm running XP (lol XP) so it should work automatically. I know it worked before without having to install any drivers or change anything, but maybe I need to find a specific driver for my USB input? I have no idea why it won't work and I've asked on several video game forums but nobody's repliedwould downgrading the version of Nestopia help, maybe? they stopped servicing it a while back, so I've got the latest version they released (1.40 I believe)alternatively, is there any easy-to-use desktop screen recording software I could get? (preferably one that's not a huge memory hog, but that's not a big issue). that way I could potentially get better video quality. if that's the case, what's the best emulator I could use in terms of quality of video within the emulator?thx for any advice you can give me brehs

"(joy 0) 0" is the internal name for a particular button on your USB controller; similarly, something like "y-axis +" is the internal name for Down on the D-Padjust go with it

also the controller adapter I'm using is a silver PSX to PC converter (it's called "Gun Controller Converter Dualshooter") which hooks into the USB port. it has a GAME CONTROLLER input and a GUN CONTROLLER input and usually when I've used the game controller input it's worked fine. and again, I'm pretty sure I didn't have to install any drivers

quit being a nub and get a Powerpak

why do you need a 'controller adapter'why not just plug the usb controller into the usb port

idk what a power pak isit's an adapter to use a PSX or PS2 controllerthe USB controller I have that hooks straight in isn't very good, and I want to go ahead and do this while I feel like it instead of waiting to get a USB controller shipped

my stupid plug and play USB controller that I got for 15 cents works fine, except it's missing a little piece in the middle of the directional pad that makes it uncomfortable to play without
