this is the "official" name and so i searched and didn't see it...and i didn't bother to even scan the first page, so it's possible i missed an established thread anyway, i've never been and we have friends here from out of town who want to go...we have reservations for dinner already, but i was curious about the ticketsdo you have to buy one just to show up at 10:30-11pm and watch the acorn drop? i mean, i see that they sell "all day passes" for $9 (http://firstnightraleigh.com/buy-a-pass/), but i don't care about being there until the endi assume i have to buy a button, but i figured i'd check with you guys first and just endure the ridicule

Ridicule numero uno: are you 8 years old or younger? No. You'll hate FNR. Honestly though, I've never been. The family friendly thing seems retarded imo. It's like with the triangle if it's not sesame street they think it's drunken brawls and strippers. They need to lose the family friendly bullshit and just have a regular party.

Generally speaking, if it's indoors you'll need a button and if it's outdoors you don't.There may be a few outdoor shows that require them, but unless a musician you like happens to be doing an official FNR show, there's absolutely no reason for any non-parent over the age of 12 to buy a button.
