looking to capture some video/audio from the original XBOXhow can I do this relatively easily? I have a desktop and a laptop both running XP. I would be recording from a regular CRT TV, so I don't need HD or anything like that. looking to buy on Amazon cause I have Prime, so if you have any links to there it would be much appreciatedkthx

You should be able to connect your Xbox and laptop on the same power outlet while connecting your laptop up to the TV while you play. As you play a file will automatically be created in your C drive called Untitled.avi

The only problem with it is that the video file is uncompressed, leading to large file sizes. This is why many people use devices, because they can compress on the fly.

someone on IGN suggested these, but hasn't gone into any detail about it yethttp://www.amazon.com/StarTech-SVID2USB2-S-Video-Composite-Capture/dp/B000O5RIWO/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1359417675&sr=1-5&keywords=usb+video+capture+cardhttp://www.amazon.com/EASYCAP-Audio-Video-Capture-Adapter/product-reviews/B0019SSSMY/ref=cm_cr_dp_see_all_btm?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescendingare his suggestions valid :3 ]

http://www.roxio.com/enu/promotions/landing/ac-rev/game-capture/console/overview.html?source=roxmachinimaThis is what I use, but I'm using a PS3 and an HDTV. It also comes with a decent editing software that is bundled with the recording software for convenience. Pretty good quality for what I need IMO. That being said, you are using a crt tv so I'd go with either of those, but the second looks extremely cheap to me.

^if I bought this one:http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-SVID2USB2-S-Video-Composite-Capture/dp/B000O5RIWO/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1359417675&sr=1-5&keywords=usb+video+capture+cardwhat other cables might I need to get what I want?i.e. what exactly do I need to do to record through the regular XBOX

what makes you think people want to see your "viva pinata" gameplay vids in the first place? :3

How is it possible for someone to NOT know how to do this?
1/29/2013 3:21:32 PM
Mine is completely different because I have cables running from the console to the capture card, then to the tv, but this one only has one input. http://www.thehaloforum.com/montage-video-help/67309-how-hook-up-360-capture-card.htmlThey do a decent job of describing what needs to happen with that capture card and even offer really crappy paint drawings to help explain. This should work for the one you want to buy, unless I'm mistaken. Also you can check out these videos, guy is just using a different brand of capture card, but its the same thing:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7Z9OnnQGLAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cFN4N6UlwkAnd this link offers more explanation, and a guy actually has an easycap in this thread:http://gamebattles.majorleaguegaming.com/forums/t/OFFICIAL-Capture-Card-Thread-2284776[Edited on January 29, 2013 at 4:06 PM.
