8 cds for a penny?! how could this be a bad idea?

haha, i remember lifehacking the hell out of BMG's 8 for the price of 1 to build up a massive collection of music with no direct cost to me back when I was a kid.

Do people still buy physical media?

I remember I would be looking through their catalog like, "fuck, I have to find 5 more cds that I like"

There was a used CD store by me that would give me an extra couple bucks for CDs that were sealed, so I'd roll with 3 or 4 accounts at a time, and use one to get CDs to sell back and use those funds to pay for the others. I'd figure out which CDs would get me the most buyback cash, and get those to sell back.Sometimes it was hard to find CDs I wanted, and without the Internet, I'd sometimes make a guess based on genre and even the cover art. Hell, I stumbled on to A tribe called quest that way. I got The Chronic having never heard any of the songs on it yet based on knowing that Dr. Dre was part of NWA and I liked NWA. others did not work out so well, but then i could sell 'em to the CD store. I guess this is how kids wasted time before the internet was more than just a DoD project.

haha i had like 10 BMG accounts... the worst was when they would throw a shitty CD in your order instead of the CD you actually ordered. (and no, I didn't write the wrong number on the form I mailed in!)

or maybe you liked spice girls when you put the order inbut that when your friend so you open the box you had to play it offits cool brah
