Anybody out there use software to organize their photos? Obviously, I’m no photographer, but I still have hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures that I’d like to organize and potentially remove duplicates. I’ve looked at Lightroom, but really don’t want to be held to a monthly subscription, and I’ve looked at ACDSee. Any others worth mentioning? Thanks, your friendly neighborhood rjrumfel

^Thanks! The one I like requires either docker or ubuntu. I don’t currently have either running at home but I could make it happen.

In my opinion Lightroom is the goat and you can get a sub for $9.99/month that gives you that and Photoshop. My current Lightroom catalog is approaching 900k photos and still running strong. I have an incredibly robust tagging system so I have peoples faces tagged, locations, etc. I rename them all in LR with unique names, and more. Everything is stored on my NAS with RAID1 18TB drives and I have a cloud sync and an offsite backup on my office PC to an external HDD that is the same size.
