LOL!

I assume most of us have some stuff in the back catalog that we wouldn't be so pleased to have reviewed in the current day. For instance, I leaned and voted Conservative and likely posted as such. What a mistake!

People are waaaay too comfortable saying the most insane shit you've ever seen on Facebook and Nextdoor. I see out of pocket posts on the RING camera app. Nothing matters anymore

I dont think any engagement on Twitter is real at this point. Blue checks and bots. It's all negative engagement/reaction bait

I've been lurking for years. Posting occasionally. I'm gonna be honest and say that at this point, I'd get more interaction out of posting my dumb thoughts and comments on TWW than I would on twitter. That shithole website is completely broken

It’s always good to have more geezers posting.

Bring your friends.

If this thread is memory lane, my greatest TWW hit was probably that thread I made when I caught SaabTurbo and his girlfriend stealing ibuprofen from the Avent Ferry Food Lion when I was working there. That thread probably got lost in the great purge.

I have it on good authority that threads can be resurrected if you provide sufficient detail.

What details are needed? All I know is it had “Attn: SaabTurbo” in the title, and it was a few pages long I think. There are some out there but they weren’t started by me. I have no idea the timeframe, but it was before 2004.

We need a new section of TWW that houses legendary threads of yore, including old ones that have been purged. Preserved for historical TWW archives. Ones like "Can't sleep, addicted to my Tony", "alcohol cabnit", "please guys, I have a game tonight", etc.

The Technodrome was my ultimate grail. I didn't have it as a child, my buddy Will did, but I had the Sewer playset. I think I ended up buying 3 different partial technodromes to have one fully complete. Sold the carcasses again to recoup some money.

For the box I found a seller had the box only with an entire unused sticker set and instructions that i got for less than $200. And the box is MINT

I think I'm all in on the 100% complete technodrome for < $400 (and that's in 2021-22 dollars so like $1,000,000 in 2026)

I had this one battery powered TMNT thing that had a gripper that would close around an action figure and turn it sideways before spinning 180 degrees and coming back to you. What was that thing called? I think it's still in a box at my mom's or maybe my nephew has it now.

I also had the van and maybe the pizza disc launcher.

I've honestly never come across this one, the Ninja Grapplor

I still have al my original stuff (van, sewer, pizza thrower, drill, etc) but they're all in pretty rough shape. I have acquired anything I had complete in box at this point.

the wiki says he never appeared on the tv show, just as a toy. I was like 5. Don't even really remember watching the cartoon.

hahaha how are you gonna list off all those regular TMNT names like Beebop and Rocksteady but forget the name of Krang?

That may have been a tie-in with the TMNT3 movie when they went back in time to feudal Japan. The weird thing about it was that the movie was very clearly independent from the cartoon (kind like the Ghostbuster movies vs. the Real Ghostbuster cartoon), but the action figures and other toys based around the movies very clearly used the art style of the cartoons.

You're misremembering.

The figures based on the third movie had pebbled skin and much more detailed paint jobs with realistic colors and markings. Their eyes even had pupils. They didn't resemble the cartoon's designs at all.

There was a samurai variant of Leonardo not related to the movie. It was released in 1990, years before the movie. That figure used the usual design elements for the Playmates figures: white eyes, one color for the skin, etc.

In any case, the Playmates figures did not resemble the cartoon's designs very much. The white eyes and facial expressions were much more in line with the Mirage comics. The figures' proportions were very different from the show as well. The Turtles even had different skin colors from each other, while they were identical in the show. About the only elements that matched the show were the colors of their masks and the initials on their belts, and even the belts' designs were different from the ones on the show.
