been to seattle in march, wasnt that bad

december before last i went out to portland to meet up with a friend. spent a weekend doing microbrewery tours, then a winter beer fest. then up to vancouver.

was a wonderful trip.

if you go to portland, you MUST go to tugboat, get the chocolate stout, but get it special, with a spoonfull of hagendaz coffee ice cream

although Laurelwood NW Public House is where i always seem to end up hanging out at

may i suggest you fly rdu->pdx via vegas

if you do southwest, schedule a long layover

you can get out of the airport and to the strip for a few hours of gamblin' before making your connection.

that's a good question.. i never was worth a shit at playing my own music, and lord knows i tried for long enough. it's just been one of the only things that's ever interested me, and held my interest. i get obsessed with things regularly, and delve into them until i can't stand them. my infatuations usually last like 6months-1year, but my interest in finding new music and seeing the bands i love live has never faded. sometimes i wonder though if the amount of money i spend on tickets and travel alone is worth it, but i figure there are more expensive hobbies out there.

some of my friends would probably say i'm a music snob, but over the last few years i'm not nearly as vocal about it. i mean, if you're in love with 311, more power to you, but you wont convince me to buy a ticket to go see them with you. at one point i had a thing with bogarting the music playing in cars, parties, etc, but i've realized that's a pretty dickish thing to do.

now i try and introduce friends to new music to try and expand their horizons, as opposed to scoffing at their opinions.

i do that shit all the time. i rarely to never answer my phone, ill call you back when i want to, if i want to. it's better than cutting the call off and sending it right to vm though.
