Bailey hasn’t been great today. Really since that second INT late in the first half. Just inaccurate and some poor decisions. He’s still really good. I also blame some of the play calling. Bailey took a beating and some of it was avoidable. He doesn’t need to be running RPOs and QB draws. that’s not his strength.

Refs fucked us on that play

Special teams fucked us out of 11 points and potentially even 18. Defense wasn’t good but if special teams hadn’t fucked up we probably win the game. Even with all the turnovers and bad defense.

I thought this was evident in his OC/DC hires. Not sure of his family issues, but at this point he seems to be more passionate about perfecting his golf swing than winning football games.

Uh his dad died a couple years ago and apparently it really affected him. Other than that? Nothing? He's made it clear in the past that he has no intention of coaching into old age. He's 53. He'll in all likelihood retire before he's 60. But i don't think he's given up. Kurt Roper has been a great OC hire so far. Eliot has been less than great, but I don't think that's because Dave has "checked out". Probably more to do with the scheme change/massive turnover on both the DL and DB groups. Roper was already on staff so he is essentially adding things to/tweaking a system that was already in place. He knew first-hand what worked and what didn't, what Bailey was good at, etc. The entire defense is adjusting to a new system with different coverages/zone responsibilities/verbiage.

If i had to guess, I'd say he'll be here for 2 or 3 more years, but who knows? People confuse not putting in 100 hour work weeks with giving up. Yeah he likes to do things other than coach football. That's not a crime (well at least the things he's doing aren't crimes. He's not Bobby Petrino)

Our starting Safety are freshman, bc of injuries/transfers. Royal in particular has been on the wrong side of lots of highlights.

Please give an example. Because, no, he seems like the same dude as always. Kinda boring personality. Sometimes salty in interviews. Likes to make fun of UNC. Doesn’t seem much different than ever.
