Real Jazz 70 FTWI've got that hooked up to a wave radio in my office. it's pretty much awesome and makes me so productive
12/31/2007 2:05:29 PM
i actually like sirius. XM has acc, yeah, but i live in acc country so i never have a problem finding the games.sirius has nfl which i use often. i'm still getting used to the music channels though
12/31/2007 2:06:22 PM
ok i put quincy as channel 70 now...got 10 still open...i put top 20 on 20 as number 9[Edited on December 31, 2007 at 2:06 PM. Reason : ^thought they were merging anyways]
12/31/2007 2:06:35 PM
I hope the merger does go through. I really would love to have XM integrated into my car. My car came installed with Sirius, and it's all builtin to the navigation system, etc, so I had to get an external XM device installed.
12/31/2007 2:17:05 PM
I just listen to the comedy channels.
12/31/2007 2:28:55 PM
i turned to one the first day i had it and damn if they didnt have gallagher on there...i was like woah...it was current too...figured he retired
12/31/2007 2:32:15 PM
has anyone tried out one of the portable XM receivers? I'm tempted to get a Pioneer portable unit, but I'm afraid that the battery life will be horrible.
12/31/2007 2:48:06 PM
I've got the Pioneer Inno2 which is what I have hooked up in my office. As a portable unit, I wasn't too terribly impressed with its reception, especially when I was out running. The antenna is pretty small (that little nub sticking out of it). There are some companies that make a pair of ear buds that also act as a longer antenna, but I haven't tried them.If I do end up running with it, I will just play what it recorded in it's 50 hour buffer. The battery life is fine in both modes (live satellite play, and recorded playback)]
12/31/2007 2:50:41 PM
that's interesting about the antenna being weak. I was wondering about that as well, seeing as how the portable car satellite antenna that comes with the roady models sucks when you get around tall trees and have the antenna inside the car.

12/31/2007 3:57:49 PM
how much per month are the subscriptions to sirius and xm?
12/31/2007 4:17:08 PM
mine is $6.99 for XM
12/31/2007 4:18:37 PM
I like the XM.
12/31/2007 4:21:27 PM
6.99 seems pretty cheap, i thought it would be more....sirius seems cool though, i like that crazy howard stern
12/31/2007 4:24:41 PM
well, I've had it for over 5 years (I am subscriber #232 or something like that) and I locked in a cheap rate early
12/31/2007 4:29:58 PM
dag yo
12/31/2007 4:30:33 PM
I think its like $13 now
12/31/2007 4:30:55 PM
They're the same price, and they're basically the same thing, from what I've heard (I have XM).Soon, they will be the same thing. [/merger]
12/31/2007 4:32:42 PM
Price (XM & Sirius):12.95/month for the first unit.6.99/month for family account lines after the first (I'm on my folks, so thats how I get it on the cheap)Channels:My favorites/presets are:202- Opie & Anthony/Ron & Fez48- Squizz42- Liquid Metal47- Ethel41- Boneyard54- Lucy30- XM Hitlist26- Flight 2620- 20 on 2045- StarbucksPortable Units:I have a Nexus portable, that basically is an mp3 player when portable and live in the car or on the cradle at home. I really enjoy listening to it, and have close to a gig of music time-shifted on the unit. I am never lacking for music to listen to. I use it to run and mow the grass and have had nice battery life on it. Just don't leave it out in the car. I did, it got hot, and the battery is now screwed, much like cellphone batteries do.

I was thinking between the instability of anything dealing with a merger, and never having subscribed before, I just went with the monthly rates which are $13 or so. Gotta say it's not as good as I thought it would be, but it's ridiculously better than standard radio. Need to buy in one of the long term rates and get a better deal. My favourites:30 Hitlist45 Starbucks66 Raw Hip Hop68 The Heat81 BPM - Nice for those long road trips84 XM Chill - " "94 Caliente
12/31/2007 4:58:16 PM

3/2/2008 11:26:06 PM
