if you haven't been to danny's... obviously you wouldn't know how bitchin' it is.

and for the money you could drive to goldsboro for real bbq
4/15/2008 11:17:04 PM
I was referring to western style BBQ, not Danny's. Danny's serves a little bit of everything. the beef brisket and the turkey are too dry every time I go there, but the sides are really good.
4/15/2008 11:17:40 PM
goldsboro = suck
what will you tell me next, that they put shit on a stick and cover it up in mustard?
4/15/2008 11:17:42 PM

4/15/2008 11:19:58 PM
when that plate in front of you cost $12, you can bitch all you want. Dickies BBQ at crossroads has better meats for the money, as bad as that is to say.
4/15/2008 11:20:59 PM
for real, for all you people bitch about barbeque yet you go out to eat it, that means your barbeque game aint tight so maybe you should look at yourself and step it uptheyve got you like a tether ball because you cant even figure out how to turn an oven onyall cats have tried, and will continue to eat at every place on the map until a man comes along and teaches you to fish[Edited on April 15, 2008 at 11:22 PM. 4/15/2008 11:22:22 PM
maybe some of us have coworkers that really like the food at Danny's. There are a couple of people at my office, myself included, that go to Danny's about once a month because we want some brunswick stew and fried okra. The okra is good enough to make the trip worthwhile. It's not like there's a good restaurant with a pig on the grill that you can go to around here.[Edited on April 15, 2008 at 11:26 PM. 4/15/2008 11:23:56 PM
maybe some of us have alot of excuses and no solutions

At first I read this thread as just another food thread flamed by those claiming to be superior in their travels and knowledge of foodbut then Zombcraw saved the day and turned it into hilarity

So wheres the best place in the area to get good eastern style bbq? The vinegar kind. Havent had decent bbq since I was in fayetteville, and that place wasnt even that hot.
4/16/2008 11:49:33 AM
I go to Danny's in RTP. It's convenient...I can usually leave, eat, and be back in my office in 30 minutes if I need to.It's good food, but it's not BBQ. Just good pork and some sweet or hot sauce you can put on it. If you're looking for BBQ go elsewhere. If you're looking for a decent pork sandwich with some fries and brunswick stew you should hit that place up.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 11:52 AM. Reason : l]

i've been to the one near Regency Parkway a few timessome of my coworkers go every now and then - i didn't know how good it was until I had it drunk and tried all the sauces
4/16/2008 11:59:57 AM
it's amazing. i used to work there and danny's a friend of the family. but even if that weren't the case, i'd still think it was amazing.their sauces are top notch. my favorite is sloppin that bbq with a lot of that vinegar sauce and some of that sweet sauce. mmm mmm ima gittin houngry! their banana pudding and okra are excellent as well.man i used to love getting my free meals from there. i think it is a little expensive though. but not any more expensive than smithfield's bbq or red hot and blue. and it's a lot better than either of those by a mile. by a million miles!!!!
4/16/2008 12:30:21 PM
you just compared red hot and blue to bbq to real bbq places
4/16/2008 12:35:21 PM
mmmmmm bbq
