Not looking like a dick usually does resonate on a massive scale. It resonates in the form of good jobs and lots of friends who make your life better and help you when you're down.

and yes, i fully admit i'm weighing the advantages and disadvantages...and people have offered a number of alternatives, which i've considered...actually, the one about hanging it from my board is the best (IMO) and that's what it's doing right now

That's where you're wrong. I'd be a sellout if I were concerned about wearing the Livestrong bracelet and I chose to wear it anyway.

It's not that I'd sell out...It's that I wouldn't waste my time worrying over that trite bullshit to begin with.
