As far as medieval/renaissance weapons, I think if I had to choose just one, it would be a Poleaxe.

Extremely versitlie weapon. A bit less than the hight of a man, it's long enough to be useful keeping the enemy away and against horses, but short enough to use in tight spaces and be quick.

Plus it can be used as a blunt, slashing, or piercing weapon depending on the type of armor you are facing.




This is assuming I'm well armored myself. If not I'm going to want something 1 handed so that I can have a shield.
