my 70 year old aunt drives a pacifica. It seems to be the type of vehicle targeted to that demographic.

5/30/2008 11:56:52 AM
I thought evan was rich?
5/30/2008 12:15:35 PM
My current set of tires ran me around $1200 for one set of wheels, and $500 for the other set of wheels. Both for the same car.
5/30/2008 12:29:08 PM
My uncle owns a tire dealership and he says all the suppliers around here are going up 12-18% next month. They already went up like 10% a few months ago.
5/30/2008 12:41:32 PM
Spent $100 for my last set of tires, including an extra set of rims.Damn I love finding race take offs for my bike.

5/30/2008 1:12:10 PM
i have michelin hydra-edge tires on my camry and those were $800
5/30/2008 1:33:00 PM
shit, my tires are only like 600 for a set of 4, and these are low profile, odd size tires. evan should have done his homework. buy tires online at a low price, go to some mom and pop service station to get them put on ftw. don't buy tires from dealers, they always jack up the price.
5/30/2008 1:33:12 PM
but what kind* are they and what kind of mileage can you expect out of your 'low profile' pieces of crap?
5/30/2008 1:38:52 PM
One set of 4 Pirelli P-Zero Nero 235/55/ZR17 at retail? Ballpark $800, and that doesn't include installation costs.Last 2 brand new sets of 4 I've bought on eBay? Final cost <$700.Also did the same thing for the Goodyear Gatorbacks I had on my last Mustang. I'm never again buying tires at retail.
5/30/2008 1:39:41 PM
i can buy a set of racing tires for $600come on

toyo proxes st 305/40/r22. Cheapest/most milage for that size.[Edited on May 30, 2008 at 1:43 PM. Reason : also NEVER buy avon tyres. worst mistake i ever made for my old car.]

Nothing wrong with the Pacifica it just looks like a vehicle for older dinks or maybe empty nesters. The shit-eating porn license plate should remove any doubt who's driving though. Seriously though, it's an okay vehicle.

dude. i payed more before. got the michelin pilots. and my tires are staggered so you can't rotate them and they only last about 15K miles.you did good. you didn't get pwnd.

$900 might be a little more than average, but it's not THAT bad. an OEM set of tires for my Evo was like $1300, mounted and balanced, and they only last maybe 12k miles or so. The tires I replaced them with were about $750-800, mounted and balanced, and at 7k, they're all but down to the wear bars (although I would've pushed them another 3k+ if I hadn't sold the car).My S2000 went through about $500 worth of rear tires about every 10k miles (the fronts would last maybe 20k. staggered sizes and directional tires, so I couldn't rotate them).you can easily spend way more than $900 on truck tires, especially big offroad tires.
6/1/2008 12:40:01 PM
yeah I WISH the tires for my 'rango was only 900.

Michelin 10-ply rated on my Dodge diesel were $530 for the last pair I bought about 2 years ago. I need 2 more for the front now but I done spent my Economic Stimulus Rebate check.Maybe I need to stop driving that overpriced diesel sucking beyotch and get a pink Beetle or something, maybe a Miata.
