bio/biomedical engineering - math, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering (pretty much applied physics and chem) biochem - chemistry, math, physics, biologybiology - biology, chemistry, math/physics all of which should be paired with a history minor if you want to get nicely rounded outmost of the other engineerings focus too much on the mundane aspects of physics, math, and in some cases chemistry. history and most other chass loads don't do much with regards to the understanding of any of the sciences (how stuff works)in many ways econ and business are even more limited in scope than the other engineerings in terms of overall well roundedness - bioengineering with a history minor would probably be the most all encompassing[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 2:19 PM. Reason : note i am not a bio-engineer ]

It depends on what your definition of smart is. You can learn a lot from history when it comes to increasing your common sense, but some people are smart in a science type of way and understand tougher topics of study. Example of why history makes you smart: DON'T BUY FUEL BURNERS! The people who are now in their 50's should have known better than to buy large SUV's that get 12 miles to the gallon. I guess they didn't learn their lesson after living through the 1970's.
