^^^^i did not hear of tiger before going pro. i maybe heard his name once or twice i remember vaguely, but i wrote it off just as someone who whites would not let excel in the sport. i am from a rural area, and grew up seeing lots of racist shit. i am not racist. i am just very aware of it, like most people are and should be.

^^^ yeah, its popular to bums because in the ny they embrace chess and give away free sets to the bums, otherwise it wouldn't be so popular to the bums. remember in searching for bobby fischer they guy let the bums use a plug to have a lamp at night? people really do that, maybe then but probably not these days. but if you did not know chess, you would not have thought about that either. do you see any bums in raleigh playing it?

there are free sets at the raleigh chess club to play with but not to keep. there maybe be places that give them away but i am not aware of them. i have several sets, you care to play to take lessons? i give lessons to >1800 uscf, and for free.
