More batteries = longer life.Throw out the Krypton bulbs and put in a 3 watt aftermarket LED.They're just as bright as the kryptons with fresh batteries, but stay brighter much longer.I have 4 or 5 D cell mag lites, mostly 3 and 4 cell. Honestly I use them the least out of all my lights. They're good to keep in the truck when I need to see far in the woods, but they're too combersome, especially when I'm firefighting and have to lug other tools. The most useful lights I have are headlamps (one 1 watt Black Diamond and one River Rock with Luxeon K2) and small high powered LED flashlights.I have 3 or 4 xenons. They're good, but battery life sucks.
