yes, of course i agree with that. but your initial argument wholly implied that the reason people opt for zeppelin over the beatles is because of their 12-15 year margin of relevance, when none of us were around for either. hell, there are tons of bands now who rip the general sound of the beatles....every bit as many as zeppelin.

retro and nostalgia are ALWAYS in. they just shift in areas of concentration.

Well I would say that The Beatles definitely sound older than Led Zeppelin and that is a reason why some people don't like them. I mean, if you took a poll of people who didn't like The Beatles I bet around 20% would say because they're "too old." Significantly less would probably say that for Zeppelin.

well, i think it's more about the appeal to aggressiveness vs. melody and harmony, as opposed to meer age. but i get ya. i mean, there were "heavy" bands in the early-mid 60's, too, but you won't hear an agro guy cite them as "too old".
