the old one. i don't like all the tabs and the big in your face wall post things. or is that a minifeed/wall combo. i don't really know. i don't really look at facebook enough to be annoyed by the applications people have on their profiles (which is why people said the tabs were made). i don't really care i just switched mine back by accident today and i don't really know how to switch it back again to the new one. so its on the old one.

ummm the way people's profiles are organized. with the new one i have to look all over to see if things changed. with the old one, one quick glance and i know what i want to know.

i'm guessing its either a) because i'm female or b) because that is what everyone probably looks at (i don't know though, it might just be me)

I like how the applications are moved off to their own page.

I do not like the wall being integrated into the news feed and a separate tab for EVERYTHING.

My suggestion would have been one tab for the "profile" and one tab for the "applications." Keep the news feed and the wall separate, but on the same page as all the pertinent info.

i like the older one i think...the new one doesnt put anyone elses shit in the minifeed thing...i'm not a big facebooker like for example jessiejepp, so with the minifeed only having my shit, facebook is gonna suck more for me now...

i've been watching this progress through the last few months in the developers section of FB, and this is 1000% better than what it was.

it was wider before it really launched but that was because there were no ads at that point. and nothing as far as functionality has changed, you can still have apps boxes on the front page but they are forced to be smaller and more to the point. and at least they gave you the opportunity to go back if you didn't like it

the only complaints i have is the speed but i'm sure that will be improved, and i wish that posts by others would just be called wall posts or something like that to make it less confusing, and maybe move it to the left.

this is completely more organized and better and i agree fully with qntmfred here.

alright well i'm not sure, it isn't even that bad.

i think they will just because new things have bugs at first and i'm pretty sure those will get worked out at some point

i've grown quite used to the new layout, and i prefer it over the old one now. i like that it's wider, i hate websites that neglect all the real estate on the sides.

I like it just fine now. I still REALLY don't like how the wall and the mini-feeds have merged. I don't care if there are buttons to sort by posts. It was unnecessary.

The other changes, I'm fine with.

^ ya I hate how everything is all mashed together instead of separate. I wonder how long they are going to allow users to use their old style. b/c I still opt to use it.

Yeah, about two months ago, every time I logged in I was switched between this new design and the old design. It was sort of annoying as hell.

"Six Years of Making ConnectionsShare
by Mark Zuckerberg Today at 8:41pm
Today we're celebrating our sixth birthday, and this week there will be 400 million people on Facebook. Just one year ago we served less than half as many people, and thanks to you we've made great progress over the last year towards making the world more open and connected.

Facebook began six years ago today as a product that my roommates and I built to help people around us connect easily, share information and understand one another better. We hoped Facebook would improve people's lives in important ways. So it's rewarding to see that as Facebook has grown, people around the world are using the service to share information about events big and small and to stay connected to everyone they care about.

For me personally, this has meant being able to remain close and connected to schoolmates, family and colleagues while working hard at building Facebook over the past six years. It has also been especially meaningful to me and to everyone at Facebook to see people using Facebook to seek help, share news and lend support during crises.

Whether in times of tragedy or joy, people want to share and help one another. This human need is what inspires us to continue to innovate and build things that allow people to connect easily and share their lives with one another.

So to celebrate six years of Facebook and the 400 million people on the service, we're doing what we like doing most—building and launching products for people. Tonight we'll host a celebration at Facebook headquarters, and we'll release a handful of new things that will improve people's Facebook experience, including a couple that people have requested a lot. We'll post more details to our blog in a few hours.

After the launch we're going to celebrate with a Hackathon—an event where all of us stay up all night coding and building out our new ideas for our next wave of products for you.

Thanks again for making Facebook a part of your life. Happy sixth birthday to Facebook and our whole community. We look forward to building more things and continuing to serve you for many more years to come.
