A guy I know went back to school to get his degree since he dropped out like 5 years ago. He said his major is African American studies. So I asked him what he's gonna do when he graduates. He says "I'm going to get a big time job like you."Ummm...AA Studies and Mechanical Engineering degree holders don't get paid the same buddy. Hope you enjoyed wasting the last couple of years. You know your degree is worthless when you can't even become manager...at Starbucks.

^^you can get a big time job studying blacks, I'm sure of it.

What about a Master's in Nuclear Engineering. Is that worth anything?]

I'd say a little

Maybe once we start building nuclear power plants again.

^ somebody is an AE.

I'd say in general he's probably right. In my case I mostly studied computational fluid dynamics in grad school, which is actually a useful skill.

I, too, am an AE

Actually, I was Marketing and Film, after switching from Stats (I was doomed to be worthless from the start). But I knew no less then three AE majors, all of whom were cool guys, and all of whom did nothing but study and party. They were the coolest fuckers on the planet. One guy couldn't do mental math and he got three fucking degrees (in 6.5 years)!

yeah, I'm switching majors now after 4 years at state... now all the credits I amassed at state is worthless to me since I'm going to a photography school. I've already made graphic design and photography into a career without the need of schooling, but I just want to get some real formal training to up my skill even more.

i really try not to get into the unc debates, but i'll give my two cents anyway.to say "engineers aside, everyone would rather go to unc" is an absolutely ridiculous statement, considering engineering is what state does, and it makes up a lot of people. it's not like engineers are some tiny niche that can be all but negated from the numbers.also, you're right, a bachelor's in communications degree is like a hs diploma 15 years ago. this is not accurate for all bachelor's degrees.

you could teach w/ just a hs diploma 15 years ago?i call shenanigans.

there's so much dumb shit said in this thread it's astounding
7/27/2008 10:59:37 PM
if your degree says "UNC" on it, then it is worthless
7/27/2008 11:03:19 PM
yep.only some graduate degrees from UNC have any worth.MD, JD, and MBA. but that's pretty much true at all schools.
