Now give me the number for how many gay "marriages" end in divorce.pretty much 0but let's not let them get married because it isn't in the bible.

5/11/2009 2:16:53 PM
you should be able to get an annulment within the first 12 months in my opinion.

5/11/2009 2:22:04 PM

5/11/2009 2:23:15 PM

MARRIAGE IS 4EVER

I just think that the marriage/bible argument is laughable entirely. When I got married we did it at the courthouse. And the dude actually asked me if I wanted the word "God" removed from the ceremony.^ nope, but I think she has a Myspace or facebook. I know she has a kid now, but other than that I don't know shit.[Edited on May 11, 2009 at 2:28 PM. Reason : a]

sometimes the idea of a chick wanting to spend the rest of her life with me freaks me out, sometimes it gives me a boner.i guess when it only gives me a boner, i'll be ready to get married. assuming i can still get a boner then
5/11/2009 2:35:33 PM

5/11/2009 2:35:59 PM
its too bad i was so crazy back when the girls were a lot more plentiful around me. there were a few that would have been good baby mommas that i freaked outonce they hit 30 and arent married, chicks are weird. so im looking for someone 25-29 to knock up and marry i think
5/11/2009 2:38:24 PM

5/11/2009 3:31:56 PM
If you marry after 25have a degreeare not white trashand don't have children before getting married - the divorce rate is 25%
5/11/2009 10:11:27 PM

yea im fine with gay marriage, doesn't affect me, but the divorce rate is certainly not 0. Most pro gay marriage sites in the US will tell you it hasn't been legalized long enough to really get rough facts, plus there are a number of factors involved. The one state that I did find statistics for said about 10% had filed for divorce. But they also said that this number isn't very accurate of the overall picture because there is a lot of legal trouble with actually getting divorced in the first place since so many states do not recognize it as a real marriage to begin with. So a lot of them just separate. The "separation rate" for gays who actually have legally gotten married was estimated to be about 25% they said. They also said to keep in mind that the majority of gay marriages that have taken place so far have been gay couples who tend to be older, educated, and who have also been together a very long time. And if you take the hetero marriage rate in the similar bracket, the divorce rate is much lower than 50%. So the few stats that are available can't even be compared to 1:1 to normal marriage statistics. My personal guess? If all states allowed gay marriages and you let it sort itself out for awhile where gay marriage becomes commonplace and a lot of them start getting married younger around the same average age most heterosexual people get married, I believe the divorce and separation rates would be VERY close for the two groups. I'd wager to say reasons for divorce tend to relate to things that are in no way specific to heterosexual people, rather humans in general.[Edited on May 11, 2009 at 11:33 PM. Reason : ]

I'm pretty sure that even after normalizing for education, age, and economic status the divorce rate for gays will be higher. I support gay marriage, don't get me wrong, but gays are a promiscuous lot and have sexual desires that are contrary to many of the incentives for monogamy. The culture embraces sexual freedom pretty openly, as well.[Edited on May 11, 2009 at 11:45 PM. Reason : .]

they very well could be, can't argue with you there. My main point is that I would put money down that they wouldn't be significantly lower. [Edited on May 11, 2009 at 11:42 PM. Reason : ]
