i used to miss it, but now when i go back i'm kind of bored. i think if my whole life was re-transported back and i was living there again it would be ok but the solitary reason i ever go back is to see my parents, and sometimes i fly them out to see me instead

edit: i also go back for work, but those trips are at no cost to me, and i always work in a family visit

i think the only states i could live in would be washington, oregon, va, nc, texas, and MAYBE GA

of those i'd rather live in nc(charlotte) or texas(austin, dallas, or MAYBE houston but idk about that one)

austin is better. dallas can be too pretentious and houston is great and all but austin just has more shit to do and you can actually ride a bike or walk places and you dont have to drive 45min to get everywhere

but to its credit, houston is cheap and has all the stuff a big city has, its just too sprawled for my liking

dallas can be compared to cary on drugs

richy rich, pretentious but add in a lot of plastic surgery and private schools

its not the worst place on the list, but i dont like cities that i can describe the way i describe dallas.. like miami. dallas isn't as bad as miami but its superficial like miami is

most cities have shitty parts. the key is finding decent people or fun things to do on your own, connecting with the community, and making the best of it. my current city is, for all intent and purposes, one of these industrial cities in decline, but it's the sense of being the last ones standing that brings people together.
