does popeye's actually serve fried chicken, or just boneless chicken and sandwiches and the like?

I don't remember if I've eaten at one before, but I think there used to be one in town (where I am) a looong time ago and then it closed down, so I must have at least once

in n out has been very sucessful outside of california but hasn't attempted to expand to the east coast because they deliver all of their products fresh to each store.

Bojangles, on the other hand, has tried expanding but just hasn't done well outside of the south.

Chickfila isn't really comparable to either. I prefer chickfila over both because its a healthier type of food but its a different genre.

You dumbass, this is why Bojangles just recently expanded outside of the southeast as well.

Until recently their franchise area was limited by their distribution network (most poultry providers are in the south). They've only been able to open franchises in the NE because of new distribution outlets, and those markets are VERY limited because they don't have enough supply to expand.

Bojangles was named one top 25 Franchises for performance for 2008, a list Popeye's sure isn't on. And comparing the growth of the two chains is comical. Bojangles has grown at 15-20% yearly since the mid 1990's. Popeye's has grown at 4-5% over the past decade.

Sales per Franchise are also a big differentiator. Bojangles is much more stringent in their requirements (they require double the capital and net worth compared to Popeyes), and have transparency in their franchise earnings (Bojangles is privately held) while Popeyes doesn't disclose any franchise information (Popeyes is publicly operated).

All that aside, Popeye's biscuits are fucking horrible, and their chicken is mediocre at best. To even compare their food quality is hilarious.

Popeye's uses frozen dough, frozen chicken and industrial batter applied at the factory.

Bojangles uses scratch dough, cooked on site. They use refrigerated chicken that is hand breaded (breading also made on site) and cooked. Hell, even the coffee is hand ground on site.

There's a HUGE difference.

Almost everything in that post is false. Lies and myths manufactured in the name of celebrating a franchise from your home state.

I won't debunk the whole post because its all ridiculous.

But somehow they have restaurants in the Honduras

Also, having a higher density of locations is going to skew your per location stats. Krispy kreme, for example, could easily have 10 locations in raleigh but only has 1. Some franchises have certain rules about proximity that maximize per restaurant profits.

Which parts? The Bojangles stuff is true. All bone-in chicken at bojos is fresh and hand-breaded. The growth numbers are accurate.

What the hell are you talking about? I remember when I lived in Long Island every time I'd go to the Bojo's up there it was packed. Hell, there's a Bojangles in Beijing. BEIJING. There sure as shit ain's a Popeyes in China.

Is it bad I've considered taking a vacation to China just so I can get a chicken biscuit?

Well Cook Out serves a different genre of fast food so it's not a fair comparison. CFA and Bojo's being friend chicken restaurants, it's tough. While they both have superb friend chicken, I believe Bojo's biscuits to be superior to CFA, so Bojo's wins by a hair.

I'll be glad to point you to trade publications and market reports for everything I posted. There's no "myths" to any of it. Popeye's lists their ingredients and processes on their damn website. So does Bojangles.

Are you stupid? You know why they have locations in Honduras? Because they were able to setup poultry facilities there that could meet the standards for the restaurant. The chicken is still local, refrigerated and breaded and cooked on site. If you notice, all their international locations are in Honduras (Roatan Island is a few miles off the coast), because they have a poultry plant nearby that can supply the franchises.

chick fila chicken strips >>>>>>>>bojos chicken strips

and thats the god damn, motherfuckin truth. in fact chickfila has the best chicken strips of ANY place

chickfila biscuits are the fuckin worst though, its like extort local gas stations for their biscuits, snatching the bisuits out of the warmers and leaving the eggs and bacon behind

Alot of bias in this thread by NC homers who bleed bojangles seasoning. When you let emotions get in the way, your argument integrates false information. Then you lose credibility.

you go girl

im of the opinion that bojangles isnt all that college students make it out to be

granted its good but i mean damn its not that special

the problem with yall is that yall ar too freakin busy comparing this to that, yall dont let anything exist of its own merit.

its like "o bojangles is so good popeyes sucks!" when popeyes is good as well and people dont deserve to be ridiculed because they prefer it to bojangles

Quote :
"Two Guys Named Chris >>>> Bob and the Showgram"

another example of what im talkin bout, we up in a thread talin bout bob and the showgram, douchebag comes in and drops this piece of knowledge...

And? does that make bob and the showgram a piss poor radio program? does that even mean that this two guys named chris show is actually any good? i feel the whole mentality is retarded

and based on the fact that she is pretty clearly ridiculing/trolling those of us who prefer bojangles

Standard chic-fil-a sandwich will be better for you than a whole chicken breast, since it doesn't have skin.

But comparing chic-fil-a vs supremes or bojo's filet it's not gonna be any healthier.

Right. Grilled chicken is better for you than fried chicken, but Chic Fil-a (or however the fuck you spell it) isn't better for you than Bojangles.

You couldn't be more wrong. The grease used, breast meat only vs all meat, and breading are all different ball games. Chickfila isn't a southern fried chicken place. Ya, they fry chicken but other than that fact, its completely different than bojangles/kfc/popeyes/churches/royrogers

Bojangles cajun filet biscuit has 454 calories and 21 grams of fat.
Chick-fila chicken biscuit has 450 calories and 20 grams of fat.

Bojangles cajun filet sandwich has 337 calories and 11 grams of fat.
Chick-fila chicken sandwich has 410 calories and 13 grams of fat.

Look it up.

Just because its the same fat content doesn't mean its just as healthy

but you're also leaving out the part that they sell stuff like wings, boned breasts, legs, thighs, etc and thats what most people get. Sure there are a few common items at the restaurants but the majority of bo and company menus is traditional chicken pieces. I dont know anyone that goes to a fffchicken place other than chick fila and regularly gets a chicken sandwich.

Chickfila ONLY sells boneless, skinless breast meat. The other places thrive off of bone in.

theres also trans fat and other health concerns related to grease, bread and prep methods. Chickfila isn't "southern style fried chicken" at all.
