today i indulged in a one hour nap

you see, i was on bourbon street last night and had to take my boss's boss to the airport at 430am this morning. i also had to drive 6 hours back to houston. i made it about 2.5 hours after the drop and the fog was so thick it was not helping me stay awake. so i pulled into a truck stop type place, pulled my pillow out of my suitcase and took a snoozer in the back seat.

it was great until a text from my boss woke me up and scared the living shit out of me. i didn't know where i was and i thought i overslept and missed the airport run. after that shot of adrenaline, there was no going back to sleep. so i got back in the driver's seat and made it home. and took another nap

I decided to come sit out on my balcony after dinner, put the headphones on, and watch a movie on my iPad. Not bragging, just felt good to come enjoy the early evening breeze, and do nothing important after working.

i walked to the local neighborhood coffee shop this morning for a cup of coffee and a slice of lemon cake, then walked home and just sat out on my patio talking to a friend on the phone for while. It was nice.

I ran in a 5K with one of my co-workers and his wife. Other than that, I am going to continue to relax on the couch and finish reading a comic graphic novel.

1) I read a trashy chick lit book for 2 hours.
2) I played with/fed baby ducks.
3) I sunbathed on my neighbor's boat.
4) I sat on my front porch to watch the thunderstorm.
5) I color-coordinated my closet (fun for me).
6) I ordered Starbucks (this is a rare treat).

Today was filled with simple pleasures. Sundays rock.
