"I actually cried when I read the article earlier. Not just a few tears, seriously full-on cry. I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for her. "

I was really sad when I heard it on the news, then they started playing the interview with the bride and the first few minutes it looked like it hardly phased her, but then in the end she started crying. I definitely dont think its completely sunk in for her yet. Like she was still in shock and is upset but not nearly as upset as I would think she would be. When it finally(if that is the case) does I really hope she has friends and family close by. Her day with the love of her life ruined, ugh, it makes me sad just to think about it

police havent determined if he was wearing his seatbelt

the people i was with also thought the name of the man sounded reallly familiar

I'm not sayin it iisn't. I'm just saying all the deaths you ignore ARE. Don't treat this one any more seriously.

you people "
wtf. I hope you are a troll or you are just an idiot, NOWHERE in this thread does it say anyone doesnt think its sad any other people die moron. Of course we all think its sad when anyone dies. This just had a unique thing about it, I mean come on he died the morning of his WEDDING DAY you fuckin idiot. Leaving a bride behind. You need to seriously think before you post. Like I said there was not a single post I read where anyone said they were only sad about this guys death.

^^Well, there's a strong emotional bond between the couple on their wedding day, which is terrible because it may have ruined her life as well depending on how she takes it. The death of a single person has negative effects on at least one fewer potential person.

so what about wives that were already married to said husband? what about children? what about all the other actual family members of unmarried people that die? Once you're married for a day, does the loss lesson, since hey you're already married? are fiances the only ones that feel the tragedy of death? do they feel significantly more pain than girlfriends or wives? i could go on forever. This is one of the things wrong with society.

its like if you plan to take a kid to disney world, but had to cancel would you tell him months before or the day you are supposed to leave,

if you wait till the day you are supposed to leave the kid is all packed, he told all his friends, all excited, there is a lot of disappointment to be had

if she were married for a few years the excitement would have died down, she may be more attached but that depends on the marriage, but on wedding day its guaranteed for the bride to be super excited ....

also it kind of puts a jinx on weddings for her, it will be hard for her to marry again

surprisingly, i agree with mambagrl here. yeah, it's very tragic, and the timing is shitty... but to me its no more sad than someone getting a call that their mom just wrecked and died. i don't think it deserves tons of press just because it was a ruined fairy tale or whatever

I think it's just as sad for those involved regardless of how a person dies. I think stories like this invoke more empathy in those not directly involved/impacted due to the situational irony. If you read a story about a soldier getting killed in Iraq or person getting hit by a bus then it's easier to say "well that sucks" and move on because there isn't any expectations.

Basically on the day that is supposed to be the happiest of both of their lives, one that clearly celebrates their love and vitality has turned into a terrible tragedy.

All death is sad, obviously.

If you can't understand that then you've got some wiring issues.

Not really ironic there, Alanis. Just unfortunate. Buy a dictionary, bitch.

Sucks but shit, wear your god damned seatbelt. Any fucking
seat. Just put the thing on; it takes two seconds. It's not going to save all lives, but it defintely decreases
your chances of being ejected. I never understood
why people don't wear them.

you are a troll right? if not then
its not more sad that he passed than other people who passed, death is sad no matter what.

Its the fact that he left his bride on his wedding day. And if you cant get that then im sorry you just dont understand. He died on what was suppose to be one of the best days of his life.

death of a groom on a wedding day would have to be a horrendous emotional loading on the already over-excited bride.

^^I can understand how certain situations can make one death stand out as sadder than another but I can't understand this because it means he died in a happy frame of mind. I would expect that to make it LESS of a sad event ie Phil Collins. However, if someone were to die on the way to their foreclosure hearing, that would be a double wammy and mean they died in a state of unhappiness ie suffering before death vs dying happy.

Kind of like how people say "never leave your loved ones on a bad note because it could be the last time" When you have an argument with someone and say "i hate you" and run out then that persons dies thats one of the worst possible ways to lose them but if you end on a good note then you have a certain satisfaction.

If S.O. died the day before I was going to dump him it would be much more devastating than if he died with the satisfaction that we both knew we loved each other.

I guess its just a more sophisticated way of thinking than the cliche "wedding day nightmare omg"

Well, he had no seatbelt. That has been determined. He was the only one not wearing a seatbelt and the only one who died. I feel bad for his wife, but when you are dumb as shit...you get what you get. Maybe it was God's way of telling people that if you are too dumb to wear your seatbelt then you don't need to reproduce.
