^yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing...I could probably put money on the fact that she was probably honking her horn, or yelling at them, which caused them to get back in her face....she must have just forgotten to add that part into the e-mail.

when my roommate died in a car accident in college, the town where she was buried, everyone stopped their car for the funeral procession.they got out, and if they had a cap on, they took it off out of respect. no there wasn't rush hour traffic to deal with, but the people were doing it out of respect for someone who died.yes, it was out of line for the guys to scream at her, but if that was her main complaint, she shouldnt've run down the whole other litany of things that pissed her off....

in most places everyone stops and pulls over, its just the damn yankee transplants around here that don't understand

^ everyone I've seen up here in NY stops and pulls overI can't speak for NYC, though I'd imagine no funeral procession would be driving downtown

actually the last few times i've seen it they have always been from ohio. so maybe its just ohio drivers who are assholes.

I've stopped for many funeral processions. One of which was on a particularly nasty day and sunk in the shoulder when I pulled off the road, at least I had 4WD. It made me feel bad for the driving I did to get out of the ditch near the cemetery.

yea, this was in tennessee.... i don't see it here in DC but most funeral processions that i've seen up here are on the beltway or something. pulling over to a stop on 495 isn't really an option...it's interesting though, when rolling thunder comes through, 66 east bound shuts down. people come out to watch them literally "roll" in.

Good call on the Sheriff's part,He's right, she is self-serving with that complaint. While she cited examples of what her possible predicaments were, it came down to getting her feelings hurt and schedule abrupted. This is called respect, and it should never be seen as a nuisance. We've lost a little of that in this country.

Why the hell was the funeral procession even on the interstate?
9/13/2009 9:59:10 PM
I couldn't bring myself to read it. It's just too long.
9/13/2009 10:05:34 PM
ok i read the whole thing and here are a few of my points#1. Traffic was still flowing and if anything dont school and city buses cause problems when they are going through an area but we all know its just a part of traffic and something we cant control.#2. This woman is ridiculously pathetic to complain about a funeral procession when lesser things do more damage and nothing is ever said.#3. sometimes you have to sacrifice a little and just say hey, something i got to deal with today but your needs are no more important than anyone elses especially when her excuse was "maybe i had to pee really bad or i had a kid at day care or i have some place to be"#4. regardless of your position on things, not even the burial of a murderer should get shat on by any of us. those who are without sin should cast the first stone and its not anyones place to think they are more important than the person next to them.#5. actually read it and realize that there were open lanes, police were doing their job, and it is common place to fucking yield to a funeral procession or atleast slow down while you pass around them.#6. fucking bitch

I'm calling bullshit on the whole story...if this really happened I don't see the big deal in the woman just dealing with it. Seems everone's got a bone to pick these days with someone or other or everyone is outraged by something.

well, having people scream in your face is pretty awful but i am guessing she may have done something to deserve it. but if she needed to be "disciplined", then why didnt the escorting police officers do it rather than PTSD-rattled biker uncle?
