Cooking steak is easy for me.

8 seconds on one side, 8 seconds on the other.

Roomie and I have perfected steak cooking. He likes his less cooked so we mapped out the temperature of the grill and I get the hot spots. I have not marinated a steak in a LONG time. The grilled onions on top is the key!

Is eating a 1lb steak every other day unhealthy?

then he is not a man

It's a good thing I don't like steak much, because I can't cook it at all, and I can barely tolerate any pink in the middle.

I like it medium

I think cooking to medium releases a bit more flavor than leaving it rare, at least for me.

I can eat it at almost any level of doneness (although I don't enjoy it if it's cold inside or charred all the way through) but between medium rare and medium is perfect IMO.

And I enjoy a little garlic flavor on most steaks, so usually I just throw on some of that montreal steak seasoning (mostly salt, pepper, garlic).

on a grill is best, but when the weather prevents me from cooking it outside, i go with alton brown's method:

I hate paying other people for things I can do better and cheaper on my own.

Of course, I gladly pay for some good dry aged steaks from time to time.
