Miami is pretty awesome.
9/23/2009 8:35:23 PM
^i assume the people who say miami mean MIAMI and not miami beach, aventura, coral gables, coconut grove, sunny isles, etc...(thats gotta be what they mean right?)I bet the person that went and hated it went for a cruise, stayed downtown then took their cruise and decided they had the miami experience.[Edited on September 23, 2009 at 8:39 PM. Reason : either that or they are utlra conservative and seeing bikinis, drinking and swagg ruins their day]

Wow some of these responses are just nutsNYC is awesome. Ii go into the city probably once per month just to have dinner and see a show. Couldn't live there but it is a lot of fun to visit. And there are so many different things to see/doVegas - WTF. Vegas is a hell of a lot of fun, even if you don't gamble (I, of course, gamble like a mad woman)Houston - ok not a tourist town, but it really isn't bad at all for a business trip. Mex food is fantastic. Memphis - again, WTF. Music is awesome. Philly - ok, yes, it is filthy and crime ridden. But the museum district is tons of fun, there are some really fantastic restaurants, and if you like history, there are lots of things to see. San Francisco - probably the cleanest large city I've ever been to. And it is gorgeous, lots to do, and you can hop on the PCH. San Diego - not a great tourist spot but great for business trips. Clean and some neat stuff to see. Boston - ok, I don't get this. Parts of the city are really beautiful and if you are into history/architecture, it is really fun. Toronto - fantastic city; just spent a weekend up there in July. I'd move there. I doubt there is a large city that I wouldn't be at least interested in. Although there are some that I wouldn't pay enough for airfare. But if someone gave me tix and a hotel, I'd go about anywhere. Why not???
9/23/2009 9:36:35 PM
I try not to pass judgment on cities I haven't visited, but here's some places I can check off the list:Houston - spent way too much time there, don't care if i never go backGalveston - Its like Detroit, but with an ocean, don't care if i never go backDetroit - spent way too much time there, don't care if hope i never go backHenderson, NC (my home town) - what a dump. Its like Detroit, but not as nice, don't care if i never go back (disclaimer - my parents no longer live there, so no, i don't hate my folks)(i used to be meh about SF before i visited there, but it really is an awesome city)

I've been fortunate to be able to travel domestically and abroad pretty extensively and I can honestly say there aren't any places I've visited that I've hated... Though some midwest cities are pretty blah (Tulsa, Lincoln and Memphis)...But for those cities I haven't been to and I have no desire to in the United States:Houston -- my sister lived there and HATED it. The weather, the [obese] people and everything about it.Buffalo -- nothing appealing to me about a cold, run-down rust belt city.Detroit -- yuck.*** and lol at people not wanting to go to SF for "the gays." I've seen more openly gays sitting outside at the fucking Borough in downtown Raleigh than I did in SF and I worked a 1/4 mile from Embarcadero for 2 years!^ FYI, mambagrl is an alias and male troll. It's old name (based on Miami fetish and overall annoyingness) was likely socrates... look it up. (or was it Aristotle[Edited on September 23, 2009 at 11:55 PM. Reason : x]

Nope. Dabbles in sports talk and soap box, trolls about how awesome Miami is and loves Kobe Bryant... just look at the post history of those two names I posted.Pretty obvious.

SLC and Park City (10 miles apart pretty much) aren't bad at all... sure, you have to be a "club member" to drink and there are mormons all around but the area itself is pretty cool looking...
9/24/2009 12:03:59 AM
I heard Montreal is a lot of fun, actually.and I actually really, really like LA. then again, I didn't mess around the north end of things (Pasadena, Hollywood, Malibu, etc).I stayed around Orange Co, Irvine, Huntington Beach...it was fucking awesome.who the fuck doesn't want to go to Chicago? WTF. And yeah, places like Memphis, Nashville, I can imagine that there is a small core of the city that is amazing. I'm just imagining that most of it is absolute shit. Orlando sucked when I went for 4 days. And no, it wasn't for Universal Studios or anything. That place just sucked.[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 4:24 PM. Reason : asdfasfasdd]
