lol, I had a pager freshman year in college. the only people that ever paged me were my mom and my girlfriend. total waste of money

and speaking of money, think of how much you would save by not having a cell phone for a year.

I remember back in high school when 1-800-COLLECT was really big. I would call my mom to come pick me up after baseball practice, and when it would say "Please state your name" I would say "Come Pick Me Up".

So she would get "You have a collect call from 'Come Pick Me Up', would you like to accept the charges?" She'd just hang up and come get me. Pretty crafty, huh?

I used to use the hell out of my dad's company calling card. I had the number memorized and could use it anytime...even when he had the physical card. He finally told me to quit that shit.

nice work....there was a payphone at my middle school that if you dialed 1-800-BIG-TITS and waited through the pre-recorded message in silence in silence, it would click over to a dial tone at the end and you could make a free call......not that I had anyone important to call but I still felt like a badass

i too had a pager

i had a cell phone just for the purpose of emergencies, and i never used it. it wasn't until college that i used it "regularly" and even then i had a land line that i used more often than not. getting rid of my land line is my biggest regret, b/c now i'm completely dependent on my cell phone.

so like i said...that week or so when i didn't have a cell phone was the BEST WEEK EVER

They used to confiscate all pagers at my jr. high because they thought they were for drug deals

They took mine once and accused "i'll be late picking you up from practice" as code for some kind of huge weed deal

there were some pagers you could send text message on. you would call and talk to an operator and they would transcribe it to text. if i remember correctly, my pager had that option but it cost more per month so I didn't activate it.
