If you need a new phone right now I'd definitely try the pre. It's different from other phones in terms of user interface, but the experience is nothing short of spectacular - particularly if you're hooked in with work. Second choice would easily be the tour - it's a fantastic phone and should be getting the flash update in the next 6 months. If you can wait I might consider some upcoming Android phones, but I still think the pre with a spare battery would win for me.

wonder when Sprint will have 4G in Raleigh. They're supposed to roll it out in raleigh, charlotte, and greensboro before the year is over but who knows when.

OK so now I feel foolish for not reading the "decision made" post, but I will leave my long-winded post up in case anyone else finds useful what I just spent 5 minutes typing up.I don't think SERO is available for new subscribers anymore, but I could be wrong.I'd say get the Pre. I've played with one and it's a damn nice piece of hardware. The only drawback is that the hardware keyboard is FREAKING TINY. If you have large hands or fingers, this could be a big problem. This would probably be my next phone except that I would have to change plans, long story. If the Pre's too small for you, go with the Touch Pro 2. Looked at one of those the other night (I currently have the older Touch Pro) and it's a really nice device as well. I'm upgrading to one myself, soon, and I'm already used to Windows Mobile (and HTC's TouchFlo wrapper), so it won't be a lot to relearn. Hardware keyboard is the best I've ever seen on a phone, and the screen is really nice too. The only knock on HTC is the quality (I had a mogul that crapped out after about 18 months and I'm on my *fourth* Touch Pro in a year) but maybe they've gotten better. And the nice features are, sometimes, enough to forgive them.Heard the BB Tour is really nice too, but I had a blackberry for work (granted an older model, 8830) and I never really got to like the OS, plus the web browser sucked. In my opinion the only reason to get a BB is if your workplace runs a Blackberry server and you can take advantage of the true push email capabilities.[Edited on October 22, 2009 at 12:30 PM. You can jump on SERO if you have someone with the plan already clone it and do a TOL via conference call with Sprint.
