hahaha theres no need to berate the chick, denial is completely normal... and almost expected in people who deal with pain docs. i'd say a full quarter of the people who enter the treatment center that i am affiliated with have NEVER touched a drug that wasn't prescribed to them.

Best thing about pain is that you're assured you're still alive. Never had chronic pain, just acute at times, usually due to injury or surgery. I stay away from the narcotics though, they fuck up my head.Have you tried a psychiatric counselor?

isn't that the point

I totally have to side with jackleg on this issue. This is why I very rarely take opiate pain medications, and why I almost NEVER take them more than two consecutive days. Only when nothing else works and I'm in severe pain.I have an aunt that is confined to an assisted living facility for the rest of her life...and she's only 53 years old. The culprit? Oxycodone. She was taking massive amounts for no telling how long (classic pillhead), and now suffers almost complete liver failure and some brain damage. Her speech is terribly slurred, and she has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old...maybe less than that. years of alcohol and pill popping have almost killed her. What sucks is she has a son in high school. And my cousin is a good kid. He doesn't deserve this.

I think its telling that she took several percocet when she got her wisdom teeth taken out. Surprisingly, when the dr. prescribes pain medication, you're not supposed to eat the whole bottle until they're gone. You're supposed to only take them as long as its necessary before you can switch to non-prescription... Which, for wisdom teeth removal should only be 1-2 days.

LiLStarlet27,unless you tell us the reason why you have chronic pain, people on here will just call you out as an addict.
