$1500 on my roadbike, and I love it. I think it's the most expensive single item I've ever purchased.

The wife and I will probaily get surround sound in the house soon, but that's kidof a "home improvement" more than a splurge. Chances are the next $1000+ purchase will be a 29" mountain bike.

$2200 on a new king size bed....worth every penny

$16000 on a 2003 Infiniti G35...worth every penny but I sold it 3 months later in favor of saving for a house

$1000 earnest money deposit for a new townhouse that will be completed in April....worth every penny

I spent $14,000 a piece on my last three keys, and they were worth every penny.

Not sure if the dungeon counts bc technically it's a necessary addition to the house.

the sex dragon you put in the sex dungeon was rather pricey though.

I think the only thing I've ever spent more than $1K on in a single purchase is cars. Love the current car ('03 Mercury Marauder) but I regret the payments I'm making, should have been a little more frugal.

Other than that and the 3 other cars I've owned that cost more than $1K, I've never laid down over a grand for any single purchase. Heck, I think the only things I've ever spent more than $500 on were my bed and one of my guitars. I've probably had some vacations that were kinda expensive but I don't believe I've ever crossed into $1000+ territory.

Considering I'm 29, that's actually kind of pathetic.

Something I wanted? Never. Maybe if you adjust for inflation and go back a decade or more.

Lately I've had too many medical bills and car repairs to have money to do anything at all.

Combined for over $1000 with 2 other people for my trip to Montana
~$2000 on my car (didn't necessarily need it, I could have put a new transmission in my POS ford escort for like $600)
that is all I can really think of at the moment

Most recent to least recent, but all within the last 6 months:

$2,400 - Condo installment
$3,440 - Life insurance premium
$2,800 - Trip to Mauritius (split equally bw ticket and expenses there)
$9,600 - Volvo S60
$1,010 - HP laptop

And no, I don't regret a single one, but now all my money is gone

well if you want to get technical you can live without a home or dental care too. The stipulation is because hearing about peoples medical bills and home payments isn't that interesting to me.

Home theater. Equipment & install. Worth it.

Upgraded to king size bed. Totally worth it.

Dog. Seriously, our puggle was $texas. Add supplies, vet care, and classes (group & private) and this dog is like $USA. Not worth it. Penny was an emotional purchase to fill a hole after receiving bad news. We shouldn't have gotten a dog or should have at least gotten a rescue.

TV, Trip to Vegas and trip to AC

But I made all my expenses and then some back on the Vegas trip, and made enough in AC that the whole trip only cost me like 400
