I don't think doing Hayes Barton makes it feel too involved. It's a pretty laid back, casual spot--just expensive.

My buddy Matt is one of the chefs there, too.

and yeah, Melting Pot is, considering its overblown reputation and pricing, pretty bad.

Hayes Barton, aside from it being casual, is also good for when the conversation sucks. It's a fairly loud restaurant, and the atmosphere is good for eye wandering distraction

It's why we chose that for when our parents met for the first time...just in case they wanted to kill each other, we could at least go, "oooooh! did you see all the Elvis memorabilia in the bathroom??"

so im guessing you already took her out, but i just wanted to throw dos taquitos out there. a guy took me on a first date there and i was like "uh wtf...we are in a food lion shopping center?" but it was awesome

another fun place to go if the weather is nice is red room, you can sit outside and order tapas (i think its half off on sunday and monday) and drink sangria. they have a "date night" thing on wednesday but i have never tried that.

irregardless cafe is cute, i always read about it on here, but i thought it smelled like old people in there...has anyone else noticed this?

oh and i haven't been there, but i have heard really good thing about poole's diner. i want to try it out.

^no, i couldnt care less about tww judgement. safe bet she would make everyones wish list, and i'll leave it at that.

we did the charlie goodnights fajita margarita night. food was subpar, but a couple three pitchers of margaritas will make you enjoy any show, which was actually pretty good minus a few amateurs.
