I prefer preserves. As I understand it: preserves have chunks of fruit; jam contains crushed fruit and is usually opaque or slightly translucent; jelly has a smooth texture and is usually translucent.

I like the chunks of fruit; it spices up the eating experience. Raspberry, Strawberry, and Apricot are best, but others work too. Cherry is too sweet and Pear is too mild (from recent experience). Great on toast, not so good in PB&J.

I am bad to just say jelly. I prefer chunks of fruit in there, so I buy whatever that is.

I have never ever had a PB&J.

I used to eat PB but never really liked it... in fact, I hate it now. I hate peanuts as well (but I love almonds, walnuts, cashews, pistachios, macadamias, etc).

As for jelly, it is jellified sugared fruit drink, so it is nasty. I love jam and preserves (sweetened with concentrated grape juice), but I have cut down on it.

I grew up on CC&J*, and I still have them, but I have cut down on them as they are too high in saturated fat and sugar. I had 2 daily from primary school to high school. If I could, I would eat several every day.

*CC&J = Cream Cheese and Jam

^ boo...

SUGAR RUSH FTW!

Actually, I usually eat the sugar free strawberry stuff, but damn that Rhubarb Jam mentioned at the end of page 1 sounds nice. Hook me up with some of that, if you don't mind! PM me... seriously. I'd buy some.

And, since we're getting all jam/jelly/preserverific, I must add that I haven't had true "jelly" in a long long time, only crushed fruit, sugar free jam (high blood sugar ftl... though thats not really the case anymore).

Fuck the jelly. Loads of crunchy pb on each slice and lots of banana in the middle. SO much better than that jelly business.

First of all, "What is the difference between jelly and jam?"

"I can't jelly my dick in your ass."

And..

Blackberry preserves are the best.

more PB than jelly

PB needs to be crunchy

and as for jelly, i don't do jelly

preserves is where its at and i'll take raspberry or blackberry or cherry or sometimes peach. but i like the seedy once better.

if i have to eat jelly it'll need to be strawberry or apple but i'd rather just eat a PB sammich plain than be forced to eat jelly.

i DO NOT LIKE TOASTED PB AND Js. nasty.

i like wheat bread. preferably some really grainy kind.

Has to be crunchy PB
PB > Jelly unless using sugarless PB, then it's PB = Jelly
Just about any jelly other than grape

I also enjoy honey, nutella or bananas in lieu of jelly from time to time.

crunchy: non-negotiable. But these days, I'm more about almond butter...which makes smooth an acceptable option.

Jelly: grape is good. My great-aunt's raspberry jelly is beyond incredible, and that's the gold standard. Alas, I have no more, and she is in Minnesota. So until then, we use my strawberry jam... Z is less picky than I am, so he is the one who uses all the other crap.

Jelly's primary purpose in a PBJ is to make the sandwich moist enough to eat without feeling like you're in a nursing home, gumming down institution food. Its secondary purpose is to provide sugar

sounds like a good way to have a carbgasm, so I'd classify it as a breakfast of fatasses

No doubt.

I'm a huge fan of Kashi's strawberry waffles with my strawberry freezer jam

I actually like the Kashi cinnamon flavored cereal. I can't think of the name of it though. It gets me through most of the time so I don't end up getting something terrible for me like an sausage egg and cheese mcgriddle.
