I think this probably has more to do with our societal perception of white traits as "normal" or the base on which other traits are judged. As such, we notice the departures from "normal" much more than we recognize the white characteristics still present.

I have a feeling that if you go to a society where white is not the dominant race they would say the same relative thing "They all look more of the other race as opposed to [asian]"

Of course you could be right, but I have a feeling it's more sociological than genetic.
