I carry. The most common two questions I get comes when I OC, and tends to be 'is you loaded' from ill informed poorly educated walmart managers/employees, or 'hey man, i gots a record, can I do that there' from random ex-cons on the street.I WILL have 1-2 guns on me anyplace I can legally OR morally do so. I will admit that the 2nd criteria is most important to me. I can legally oc or CC in someones home so long as they do not ask me not to do so, but I tend more towards CC with some folks as OC makes them twitchy. If you see me at a gas station/WalMart/Grocery store/random food place, you MIGHT notice the gun on my hip if I am carrying a 'military sized' type OC piece. A LOT fewer seem to notice the small of back gun even when its OC vs CC. And only God notices the backup gun.

meh, I OC around whoever. My anti-dumbass and anti-helpless victim stances are more important than their anti-gun stance. Most likely, they are anti-gun only because of a lack of knowledge and/or wrong information, as I've never seen an-anti gunner with legitimate reason.

in NC you do not need to register your firearms. You only need permits to purchase them. This keeps the government from being able to know what you have, but allows them to back track to see where a gun came from if it is used during a crimeyou also do not need a permit to open carry a pistol. This means you can own as many guns as you would like and the government doesn't need to know what you own. It also means you can carry whatever you like, as long as it is not concealedthe only guns you must register are specialized guns (class III I believe) which are along the lines of machine guns and guns with supressors- you have to get a special tax stamp for each of these guns. Ex: silencers- if you are able to get the tax stamp, you need to pay a $250 (I think) amount for the suppressor and for each gun you are going to put it on, and thus the government would know you have it. If you just buy a regular gun though, the government will not need to know you own it- it is the obligation of the seller to obtain and retain a copy of the purchase permit or copy of the CCP, but they are not required to (nor will they) submit this to the governmentas a side note, it is virtually impossible to get those stamps in larger counties with big cities (ie: wake or mecklenburg county), but in other smaller counties (ie: franklin) you can talk to the sheriff and usually he will write off on it and you can get this if you would like to spend the money on it (I know of a guy in franklin county who did this for suppressors- now he has little 22lr pistols like the sig mosquito that he can fire in his back yard and you pretty much only here the slide action when it is fired)[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 10:11 AM. Reason : side note]

basically any gun sold privately is not going to be "registered"the only reason to keep a copy of the buyer's permit if you sell a gun is if you bought it from a dealer, it is registered to you, to cover your ass if it is used in a crime and traced back to youi probably have 16 or 17 guns that aren't "registered" in my name, i buy and sell so many it would be retarded and expensive to register all those with the statedon't get me wrong, i have a very detailed inventory of serial numbers, etc in case of theft for insurance purposes, i don't just have random guns, but i don't feel the need to register them all
